Orlock's 2014 Jan-Feb Sculpture Contest Entry

Hi everyone.

Since i´m sculpting quite some time now but unfortunately let things slide a bit, i think this is a great opportunity to get myself back to the plasticine again.

I´m a big fan of Mass Effect, so i´m going to sculpt a lifesize bust of Mordin Solus, the Salarian scientist using plasticine. Later i will make a plaster cast of the bust to cast it in Latex.

I myself am a dental technician and have been building model kits since i was a child. Much later i started sculpting purely as a hobby.

I started sculpting on sunday and this is what i got til now: the rough shape of the head and now i´m starting to add the details.

Well, here we go.

Added some more detail to the skin (detail pics) and call this one finished. I do not expect to win...there are so many talented sculptors here, sometimes i ask myself why keep sculpting...

Anyhow, i will make a cast of this head and a latex bust out of it...you will see it painted later on.

Hope you enjoy...i had a lot of fun sculpting Mordin Solus.

Thank you!

Basically i just used artists´acrylic colour and didn´t mix a lot. I layered the colour to achieve the right shade.
