Original Stormtrooper helmet on eBay

It's amazing how some people can believe so strongly that SW fans/geeks/nerds/hobbyists are this dumb :rolleyes

I use to own a helmet exactly like that. It was cheaply made. The foam would come off easly and it warped like crazy.

Wow, and all this time I had it wrong...

Glad that guy posted a pic of what a 'real' ANH stunt helmet looks like.

so what exactly is the story with the helmet
my buddy got one when we were kids and he still has it
his mom got it at a costume shop for 80 bucks about 17 years ago the guy who sold it told them the same thing it was used for the shots with a bunch of troopers my buddy thinks it was a story to sell it for more but is there any info on it

It is a Don Post mask. The copyright was scratched into the sculpt. Funny thing, is the original DP masks, had lenses. It was maybe Late 80's that they started drilling holes in them.

I remember a guy at a costume shop telling me the same thing in high school (1991). They had one on the shelf he said was a real used helmet. Seems to be a common lie about these old DP helmets.

It's real!!!! It was used in the scene where the trooper says "Look sir, a sh!@##$y helmet!"

I just emialed him with this question:

Oh my god, I have to have this helmet! Would take a cashiers check from Nigeria? I am working on getting $4 million dollars from an aquaintance in Nigeria that e-mailed me and he promisses that after I send him $2000 he will release the $4 million to me. I would be more than happy to split this money with you if you just send me this helmet. What do you think? This could be an opportunity of a lifetime for the both of us.

Just got an automated response from him:

Hello i am sorry to inform you that through more research the helmet that was i have is not a real helmet and will be taken down from this site. i am sorry to have wasted your time.

Well you'll probably get someone unsuspecting person buying it..... but still, at that price OMG

Talking about actual screen originals, I wonder if they are still arond, and more importantly, who has them...? mmmm

I got the same helmet, the vinyl really stinks a lot.:sick
About 10 years ago I had the chance to buy a original helmet, they asked about 800 euro’s for the thing. I didn’t bought it, the helmet was in a extremely bad condition, completely deformed and beyond repairs.

I remember seeing one of these back in 2003 while I was on holiday in Los Angeles. It was in a store on Hollywood blvd, and price was $100 if I remember correctly. Didn't buy it as it felt too expensive for a plastic toy :rolleyes
