Original Sterling parts build.

I recently (today) bought a batch of sterling parts, everything but the barrel. I need some input: some of the peices have been cut off with a cutting torchm and has made them kind of sloppy looking. I was wondering how to clean up the slag, and how to remove the greasyness of the parts.
