Origin Of "the One" Predator Suit Revealed.

So for as long as i've been a member here, we have all wondered about the suit listed on the completed suit thread as "The One" ..it seemed to pre-date most suits and was considered one of the first home built suits.

today, Im going over my facebook feed and one of my friends posts this:

ha! ..this was posted by my good friend  Ryk Fortuna. it was his first full fabricaton as well as airbrush job. In case you dont know what Ryk is doing now, lets see? well Ryk was senior silicone prosthetic artist for the Hobbit, the new 300. King Kong ..to name olnly a few..he has worked at every major shop ..and im happy to say he is doing some work with us over at Immortal FX ....honestly one of the nicest guys ever!.

..and it started way back with a Pred suit....

very cool find!  I remember looking up "predator costume" and these photos popped up first.  I thought it was something unattainable.

Ok you are going to have to give a date. My first suit was finished some where around 1995 or 96. It had a true laser, radio controlled  mandibles and cannon, and working blade gauntlet. I was selling the mask and gauntlet in Sci-Entertainmment around 1992 pre-internet. I'm not saying mine was the one but it was right in the running. These are photos of photos from back then.

Bro ..Andrew name Ryk's suit 'The One" in the completed suit thread. thats how it got the name. Ryk started the suit in 95. Ryk also had up until this past week ..no knowledge of the Lair

the funny thing is that Ryk and i have been friends for years ..we've worked together on past shows all the way up to even now ..and i wouldve never known until he randomly posted it on facebook

I've actually never seen this.  So it's pretty cool that there's a history all the way back to one of the very first suits.  Plus, to find out so randomly.  Great stuff.

just wondering if anyone knows what happen to the original predator suit which keven used in the movies, just curious . There should be a Predator Hall of Fame.
