ORCA scratch build

Hi all yes I know this is too dark I was fighting the using a lens that wide open is only f14 and my cameras base ISO is 400, and I don't own any light small enough yet, for fill. so could only use a torch and the models practical's. I hear you saying why not wait until you have some lights to that I answer, because
Thank you for making this!

Had to stop for a few days to work. Just jumped back on with more known dimensions like the life ring. drew up the top deck separately and then dropped it into the model. reduced the width of the ladder and the exhaust. although I have a new drawing of the hull shape it has been great leaving it out of the model to not worry about the deck and cabin fitting. Now the walls are leaning in with a slight radius in the roof which was slightly too wide on my old model now works great.

That's going to be one big fish. I'd love to see the process of that build. Such an intricate mold to fill.

OK disclaimer I had a failed print and my filament printer need a service so changed my mine and went back to printing him normally. the problem
was cleaning the prints inside surface. If I could have got good prints this would have been a problem. The compony I got my filament from when bust during lockdown and I haven't found a good substitute yet. I know given time and the inclination I could dial in the new filament but Bruce is a background project. Well this way I can do a bit of manual sculpting of detail I missed on the computer like the scares. The does mean I'm going to have to make a mold and get a silicone out of a silicone which is a standard thing it always fills me with fear after having it go wrong once.
I've ordered 2 underwater thrusters and I'm looing in to submarine model acrylic tube for the servos and battery's to live. When I took the Orca to the lake everyone asked where's the shark so I can't not do it.

First primer coat bit more sanding the into the moulding process. Just found out what was wrong with my printer, I’d turn it up to 200 percent to rush a job and forgotten. Well at least it finished quick. Better get the teeth printed other wise it will be gums.

Ahh the familiar shade of Halfords filler primer. Looking good!

Looking amazing as always. Are Bruce's eyes going to be part of the silicone skin, or are you going to use resin or glass eyes?

As there’s a lot going on with water proofing the electronics I’m casting him all in one peace apart from the teeth which will be in a harder silicone. I,m using dragon skin and air brushing the colours on white silicone. Well that’s the plan but we all know what happens to plans . I’m going with the carrot tooth look :)
I’ve printed the teeth as in the illustration
