Mind-boggling that this thread was started on September 2nd and you got this far in such a short period of time!

Yes, rather fast production for a scratch build. Must say it does not suffer in high quality or detail.

Paint job looks great also. Looks like you have a full skill set in your wheelhouse. Congratulations.

Beautiful paint job so far...I know that there's a lot to do before you can break the Champagne on the bow   (y) (y) :notworthy::notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

I've taken some time off work so able to dedicate myself full-time. the spinner took me 5 years of an odd weekend. it nearly broke me mentally. so I want this finished before Christmas.

does anyone have more info on any of the books I've only been able to find 1
First is "A Short Course in Navigation" by A.C. Gardner

Then two volumes of the United States Coast Pilot:
#1 - Atlantic Coast: Eastport to Cape Cod
#2 - Atlantic Coast: Cape Cod to Sandy Hook

The Waterway Guide chartbook would most logically be the "Northern edition." Unfortunately, since it's updated annually, decades-out-of-date copies are likely to have been superceded in a lot of libraries. The publisher still exists, though; might be worth shooting them an email in case they have company archives: About Us | Waterway Guide

The red one is obviously hard... I thought I might've lucked upon it with "The Yachtsman's Guide to First Aid Afloat" by Earl B. Rubell, but that wasn't published until 1979 as far as I can tell. Still, it's in the ballpark, so that might be a workable fallback if you can't find anything more consistent.

Thankyou

So most of what I'm doing at the moment is getting my 3D printer to work and drawing up details. so meanwhile this happened. At this scale, brass paint or a plane stripe wouldn't have worked for me. ( and brass etching was too expensive)
