ORCA scratch build

Just got back from lake . Disaster, perfect sunshine too windy. I started the day propping an M2 screw for the rigging because someone was talking to me. Then got weeds in the prop ( it’s that season) blew a connector. Manage to fix it and shoot but too scared to look at the footage. I’m going for a

after shortening Brody I took the black tack of his shoes. Completely forgot to bring some . all the shots look amazing apart from Brody has fallen over in every one of them such a shame. I might have to do a gag real.

Taxidermy man's gonna have a heart attack if the wind blows and the Orca falls over! Filmzy!!!.....That boat has to be 15 feet in the air! OMG I can't look!! LoL The Hot Tub is sweet! It's almost that time of year to use it. How did the tile job turn out? We don't have many slate quarries open here in the northeast. The cost has gone up because that. Our neighbor did his whole roof a few years ago.......are you ready? $70,000 USD. OUCH!
Be good talk soon, I'm off here till the wife recovers. Sister-in-law is flying in tonight at 6pm (11pm your time). I'll keep you updated, You too Joberg. Big hugs to both of you, say a prayer, we need it......

I can only see the problems :) , didn’t have a tank to shoot the outside shot this time. So the shots don’t match the choppy lake shots , because of the tree growth I couldn’t point down at the few clouds we had that day. The lake shoot was a disaster as far as all the shots had something wrong with them. Next time I’ll have Bruce finished so can add some interactive stuff. I’ll also take a list of shots I want to get with a check list of props. But as a video it came out better than it should.

I'd seen this thread pop up occasionally but hadn't looked before as I wasn't sure boat building was my kind of thing. Started reading today and didn't stop till I was all caught up. Sixty four pages of awesome! Amazing detail and skills here, love what you've done.

When I first saw you making the shark I wondered if you were going to attach a cable to the back of the Orca and tow Bruce... but then we see you planning a submersible shark. Is it still part of the plan or are you sticking with a display shark for now?

And obviously this is a project that is going to get wet, can I ask if you clear coat after the weathering pass on the boat?

Bruce is waiting till I have some spare cash as its going to be solid silicone. there is a towing rig with barrels but didn't get to shoot it with all the other problems i was having. ( ie the shark is broken :)
all the paints I use are durable enough and every little bang and scratch only improves the look, so no need for a clear coat.

I opened the DL44 thread it took me 2 days to finish, I feel you pain. thankyou for sticking with it.
