ORCA scratch build

Oh, and before you embark on an animatronic miniature shark, you could always just get a real one:

So, I can't be the only one loading up the thread and admiring all the photos over and over?

Originally I hadn't even seen Quint on the crow's nest in post #122. Kind of addictive looking at the pics and seeing new details every time. What a piece and what incredible dedication! What a labour of love 100%.

That Vader tie fighter- is that the same MPC (I think) kit I built back in the day?

And, take a sharpie and add stripes to each white wire. 0, 1, 2, 3 marks to help keep them straight. Or colored sharpie if you want to get fancy (which you probably do based on everything else).

As I don’t know exactly what is under the green tarp. I’ve gone with my own version of square milk crates, I’ll paint the front one orange and the rear one gray to match reference but as most of it is cover up I’m done trying to work it out. Taps an dies have arrived so can finish the cage so it’s practical. And the Hod I’m most doubted by the top wrap work. I thought I’d have a go. I’ve collected a large selection of scale rope/strings and in the end I went with an off the shelf package string from my local hardware shop.

Interesting duo...
I'm not convinced that he couldn't have worked as the voice of C-3PO, but it is still pretty funny to think that we almost got that.

I frustratingly can't find the clip of Darrell Hammond's audition impression (probably because it included Kevin Spacey).

This is the printed ABS like resin which is remarkably stronger then you would think but I’m not sure over time it would just take someone catching one of the cables. So I’ve ordered some brass. Given up on the white metal. There are companies that spin mould your part but it’s a lot of money for 10 little bottle screws.

First what a masterpiece, this has been amazing to follow and beyond inspiring. So glad you are taking the time for something like this and sharing all of your work!!!

Second, from one who does a ton of 3d resin printing, look at something like this for functional parts.

Some of the parts you are making are indeed small, but if you want functional parts Blu is tough to beat and can turn out parts that are crazy robust (depending on what the print is of course). The smell is not great and the prints take longer (about double the standard exposure time compared to something like FAST), but it's incredible stuff.

For other parts, I like mixing 85% FAST Navy Grey (this is my new go-to for anything I am printing related to modeling, the quality is top-notch) with 15% of Tenacious. This tends to make parts that have just enough give that it removes the brittleness from the prints. We print minis like this and you can throw them against the wall and they don't break.
