So the girlfiend and I had a long heated debate. Is this a "prop". I said 'yes' and she said, something like..."BULLCRAP!"
Is it?? (she says, it's not a HELMET, and I say, but it's Optimus Prime!!!)

I will say for 28.00 at Walmart...it's AWESOME! And I'm not even a Transformer fan!
It's sized so that all peeps, small or big (yes, even us "big" kids) can wear this! Seriously! You can size this bucket so that it fits kids or big, adult sized-noggins like mine. It's heavy! Solid! And ultra-cool! Pick one up. It WILL look awesome without any mods in your display case and it's a kick ass toy! Though, a re-paint wouldn't be out of order but seriously, it looks damned good on it's own. The only down-side I see? It doesn't have any "back-plate". It's enclosed on all three sides (front, left right) and some of the back, if someone made a customized piece that is engineered to fit the open back area, let me know, as I'd be down for one! (y)thumbsup(y)thumbsup (out of 5 thumbs up)

Will this do? Don't have the cash to buy it, though. Salary's not in yet.....:confused

I just picked one up for my son at Target for his birthday. Pretty sweet helmet, spent 10 min looking at all of them deciding which one was in display quality condition. I do however like the original prime voice instead of the newer one, just my opinion tho.

I thought they got Peter Cullen to voice Optimus for the film.

theres two versions of the voie helmet, one with a guy trying to sound like Optimus, and then the real Optimus. You can tell by either trying it, or on the box where it says TRY ME it will say something like REAL MOVIE VOICE.

They did, but from what I hear there's 2 versions of the helmet. An "early" version with Gary Chalk (who did the voice of Optimus Primal in Beast Wars) and a second edition that uses Peter Cullen's voice.

Edit: ^heh beat me to it. :p

They are $26 at target as of this morning.

dam, that was a quick markdown!!

I grabbed both helmets. I was very disappointed in the voice with the first one I got, but once I heard ther was another version with Cullen's voice I went right back out and got it.

the Cullen one says "Featuring the Real Movie Voice" the Chalk one says real "battle sounds".

looks like one may be getting a mod into G1 prime :lol

Man, that's amusing how they released two different voiced helmets. :lol

Hasbro (same company that owns the Transformers license) did the same thing with their 12" Chip Hazard (from the movie Small Soldiers) back in '98... one had Tommy Lee Jones' actual voice, but after some complaints about the sound byte "All Gorgonite scum must die!", a second version was released, omitting the offending line, but with all the dialogue re-recorded by some random guy trying to sound like a generic toy soldier.

Once toy companies get a toy into the marketplace, as soon as the customer base has been built around the original (or superior) product, they seem to have no problems dropping quality as long as they move said product onto store shelves and under Christmas trees.

Does anyone have an image of the Real Movie Voice Helmet Box? I am going back to Target to see. I am not sure if I picked up the wrong one. If I remember correctly they all said try me on the box. Where does it says Real Movie Voice? Thanks guys in advance.

Here is the way to tell which helmet is which

the Chalk one says "battle sounds" instead of "real movie voice" in the lower left corner of the box.

I found both of them mixed together on the shelves at Walmart.

sidenote, the "cyber stompin" prime also has a Chalk and Cullen variant. Cullen will have "real movie sounds" on the box and Chalk says "battle phrases"
