Hello all.
I'm in the process of building a new costume. Old Rex from Star Wars Rebels. It shouldn't come directly from the Animated Universe, but it should have more of it than a real-looking Rex.
I bought a kit on Etsy. I have to work through this clearly. I glued, smoothed and sanded the bracers and greaves together. A used look is also used. But not yet painted. That only comes completely at the end.

I will try to post photos and progress relatively often and regularly. If you have any questions, just write, then I will try to answer them quickly. I'm from Germany and hope my English is ok for you.

Oh man this is wicked exciting! Did it take long to get the order from Etsy? Always seems like when ever it comes to helmets or armor they projected times are always late…

Hello Halliwax,
thank you. Ordering through Etsy went smoothly. I even received the armor 3-4 days before the intended date.

Wow! That’s pretty good, I’ve always experienced late times when ever ordering armor or helmets, youre very lucky

Ihre Englisch ist viel besser dann mein Deutche!

Looks good so far! Old Rex is one of the few named characters I'd be interested in cosplaying, but I have way too much hair. I'd have to do a "Kanan cosplaying as Rex" cosplay. :D

Hello Vagabond, thanks for the compliment. I actually need a gray beard too. But I'll probably buy it on Amazon or something.

Here is an update for the belt. I joined parts of the Grütel with rigid foam sheets, otherwise it would not fit me. I cut the hard foam to size. This then connected with a strong adhesive and glued to the belt. Then I glued on a second hard foam part. I left a part on one side open to close with Velcro. So that I can comfortably get in and out of the belt. I hope this description is understandable. I have attached some photos.

Update arms and intercom. Now I have adjusted the intercom so that it fits on the arm splint. I saw in a YouTube video how someone attached the exact same intercom to his Clonetrooper. So I orientated myself in the same way and proceeded like this. I attached the intercom with a strong clue.

Here on the Youtube Clip, you see on Minute 15:34... its the same way i used now for the Intercom.

I was able to go on again. I cut out the supplied plate with the button connections, sanded it and then glued it into the existing back box. I also thought about how I could attach the shoulder armor parts. I only care about Velcro. If anyone has a tip on how I could attach the shoulder armor parts differently and more effectively, please let me know. Stay tuned...

The plates for the hands have now been added. Look really good.

Now I have come to the aging process. That's no fun :) but it looks quite passable. My wife also scolded because I covered the white wall with black dots. Now I can soon repaint the wall in the dining room :)

I need to figure out how to attach the shoulder armor to the chest and back armor again. The Velcro didn't last. Let's see. Anyone have any ideas?
