Old Republic Saber (Stream Punk) Upgrade

Figured I'd share what I'm working on at the moment...


Buddy of mine sent me a saber to upgrade with more lights and sound. It has an Old Republic look and feel to it. Some say it's a Steam Punk saber.

I gutted it to see what I have to work with. A couple LEDs, switch, and battery...

After some pencil and paper planning, I get started...

Almost done with it... Needs a couple more small things and it's done..

That does have the steampunk asthetic, altho to really rock a full steam era saber it needs to have big coiled leads running to a backpack Tesla alternator.

It puts out a bunch of light, will it have a blade?

Yes, it can hold a 1" poly blade. It's running a Seoul ZPower LED off a Crystal Focus 4.3.

I was contemplating going with sith red but didn't have spare LEDs laying around. All I had were blue.

Recharge port, clash and activation buttons installed. Everything is done except the pommel.

Need a small piece of tube to finish it up..
