GL came out with the "original" Original Trilogy a few days ago. Have we learned anything we did not know about stuff?

That this OT thread will soon go into the already 6 page long OT DVD's merged thread in the OT forum when the mods get to it. :lol

how about this...X-wing control pad...

Now we're talkin'. This thread is now safe from merging. ;)

Those bubbles look like the light meter bubbles as used on Luke's binocs.

It's the scene I think when Red Leader fires his proton torpedos at the exhaust port. What's funny is that I read this thread and thought what the heck I'll look for something and was checking the cockpits of the X-wings/Y-wings and TIEs...and thought hey there are some Vader parts. It's almost as if they just took a handful of bits from boxes of the stuff and glued them on at random :)

So is the resolution better, or is it just that this scene is newly available?

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. What's the gist of this thread? Is it that there are props we can get better details of or did people just hate the SE versions on DVD so much that they didn't do the research using them? :lol

What I learned is that Uncle George will always find a way to make more money from Star Wars fans.

Well, good point...this DVD set doesn't give us any better of a look at this stuff than the 2004 set did. The only exception would be if the Special Edition replaced or covered up something you wanted to see, and ya needed the original version to take a look.

This set may help the studio scale builders. Wern't a lot of the origonal models replaced w/ CGI ones in the SE?

Here's the SE version...it's there...the scene starts out in shade and there's just a few frames that have light shining on the pad...it's really fast...you have to go frame-by-frame...

Be careful, or this thread could be merged into the big blob in the OT forum. It has already swallowed three. ;)

Is there anything new we can learn about Obi-Wan's lightsaber now? Now that we have the real colors that are not oversaturated, too black or tinted like on the SE disc... what can we tell about the color of the frag body?

Is Star Wars called Star Wars? Are these trully the original releases?
Or is it A new Hope? Is Vaders saber blade still white in that scene?
Does Han Shoot First?

No. Not sure what is up with those grabs.
