OK, so which one of you is Guy Raz?

Dan!

It´s great to see you back! I still have that Pizza Helmet, and so many people don´t even believe when I say what it is even now, so many years past!

(if you are serious, I still have my international credit card at the ready!)

Now, back on track:

Master Matt, I have read your post and I am sure that the RPF as a whole is now at the ready, even guarded against those who supported this creature, however, what about the silent minority? Those who support him, know who he is and will not post here to either help us out him, even via PM? Wouldn´t you think that this thread and that other one that was cited here would sway anyone like that to help us?

I mean, guys, if such of you exist, help us out here. This is a dangerous individual, not for me, I am far from his reach, but to you, your families! Lend us a hand, if you guys know how he´s posting. If his parole terms were NO internet access, then so be it.

Apparently someone on this thread has the proof but has so far not turned it over to the mods, apparently.

GR knows the rules and he knows the consequences of breaking said rules, here and in r/l. Thus turfing him is something he'd expect and probably embrace as the game could continue on. Let's face it, in most of us, there are some things we just like to mess with, be it a mathematical problem or entry into the RPF.

For he who has the info, just spill it, get this chapter over with so this thread won't go on ad nauseum.

Mods, throw a sticky up of banned members that sticks in all forums. Put a small blurb why they were banned and if known, what interests they had in this hobby (if possible). Information is powerful and it can accomplish lots of things. Information that is not divulged however, for the greater good, is useless...

Guys... you don't even know how to be paranoid... sheesh... :confused:rolleyes
LOL! I, for one, am not paranoid at the concept of Moogybaby being here. I never dealt with the guy and never so much as exchanged a post. As far as I know, he was not a convicted sex offender, so his presence does not affect me. I am sure he chafed on some though.

Had you guys seen this? It's a conversation between an RPFer and MindFountain (who was later revealed to be Raz). This conversation took place on 10/20/2007.

Quote:MindFountain: and PropRunner did good for the hobby until a few miscontents couldn't let sleeping dogs lie...

XXXXXXX

yeah, there was some great discoveries with the Obi and all

MindFountain: and the current MG-81 muzzle offering wouldn't be possible without me, if I may be allowed to boast
MindFountain: or the MR EE blaster
MindFountain: I have no regrets whatsoever
Quote:
MindFountain:
hey XXXXX, are you going to get in on the steel MG-81 ANH blaster muzzle?

XXXXXXX: No, I'm more partial to the ESB versions. The ANH is cool, but I just like the other ones better

MindFountain: I was going to offer you an artist proof, but if you have no plans to build the replica, I know many others who'd like one. Clay will be sending me some more prototypes for final approval

MindFountain: gratis, of course!

XXXXXX: Thanks--I really apprecitate that, but someone who's more of a fan of that version ought to get in on it

MindFountain: no problemo

Hehe... it was more in the sense of searching for Raz and then having a new guy say he's an old guy and with a few select hints people recognize him as the old guy... but is there proof he's that old guy or just a new guy pretending to be the old guy who was... oh hell... now I lost track of what I was saying...

Skee... I don't know you, so sorry if you find this example offensive... was just for a little paranoid humor. Let me know and I'll remove it.

"Sleeping dogs"? Yeah, that shows he had real sympathy and regrets for his actions.

How does he not injure his rotator cuff with all that patting on the back he does for himself? Whoever XXXXX was seems like they were trying to put some distance between him/herself and MindFountain. MF seems to be trying to grease the wheels a bit with giving away goodies to ingratiate himself with the populace again.

It´d take a LOT of grease.... I don´t recall if there´s enough oil (or in his case, pig lard) in the Earth to make that much....

I think it's prudent at this point to remind any supporters of GR, or those even tangentially involved in any of his projects...

His legal woes (conviction, sentence, and reasonings thereof) not in the least withstanding, another MAJOR concern for anyone in this hobby who knowingly (or unknowingly) interacts with him is the personality that lurks beneath the surface.

Raz has a virtually documented record of nearly instantaneously turning harsh and viscious on anyone who contradicts or questions him in the least.

So even if you're a morally bankrupt person with no children and no concerns for the welfare of society's children, you're still playing with fire...

Definitely paranoid. Let me put on my Irvin the Explainer hat for a minute:

  • Nekrofanatic cried "Synthezizer!"
  • My username is a play on Morton Subotnick, one of the grandfathers of electronic music and a master of aleatoric composition. Subotnick used Buchla synths, but no one recognises the name so I chose Moog as a reply instead.
  • For those that don't know, Moog is the most famous synthesizer manufacturer in the world and responsible for the synthesizer form we know and love today.
  • Any link between my post and Moogybaby was purely coincidental.
If the mods do a trace route on my ip address they should see I'm in Wellingtron New Zealand where it's been annoyingly humid for two days and my neighbour's smoke alarm has now been going off for 15 hours.

Not only that, but it can also tell us when you lie and what you had for dinner last night and may even, on occasion, stroke your hair while you sleep.

Technology is a frightening thing.

I needs me some of THAT action then. Where do I purchase one of these funky IP things?

(Yes, I AM KIDDING)

Considering what this guy's done in the past, I can understand and agree with the desire to keep him away. To be honest though, the internet is rife with people that have this particular problem, and the truth of the matter is that most of them never get caught. The only reason anyone is talking about this particular "guy" is because he's one of the few that did. I'm not saying that outing him and getting him off the board(if that's even possible) isn't appropriate, but it can give people the false impression that "now we're safe", when in reality that's the furthest thing from the truth. The people that are the most worrisome are those that are devious and clever enough to do things like this for a lifetime and fool even those closest to them. My grandfather's best friend of 40 years was finally caught, at age 70. Turns out he'd been fooling around with his daughters and grandchildren for years and nobody ever suspected, we were all devastated and I don't think my grandfather will ever get over it. The truth is there are probably others among us both here and in real life, where it's most important, that have this and many other serious problems, and it's up to each and every person to be responsible for theirs and their children's safety. Finding and removing this person as a matter of principle is a good thing, but to think that doing so will somehow make this a safer place is probably wishful thinking. All I'm saying really is that it should be done for the right reason, that being that this board and it's participants do not care to "knowingly" have such a person in their midst and to openly associate with them. To make it an issue of safety to me seems to be a bit dangerous, as it would seem to downplay the very real and potentially greater danger that still lies out there unseen.
