You cancel Caprica and other fine science fiction programming to bring us cr@p like:

- Malibu Shark Attack
- Sharkopus

Yeah.......that is fine programming, fine acting, and Emmy Award Winning shows!:angry:angry:angry:angry:angry

If they're gonna make crappy movies they could at least make them tongue in cheek like that one they did about the Mammoth that revives via an alien virus or something. That movie didn't take itself serious at all but these other ones seem to think they're A grade films when they're C grade at best. Well the canceled Anime on tuesday nights and that was the only source of good anime I had most of the time.

I can see whining about the WWF being on SyFy but come on, Sharkopus is science fiction if I have ever seen it.
Sure it is less realistic then the cheesy radioactive giant ant monster movies og my childhood, but at least it is on topic.:rolleyes
Showing these shows has nothing to do with cancelling a boring BSG spin-off. That would be the fault of crapy producers hiring people that can't write.:cool

I agree, even if it's totally B grade cheese at least it's the correct theme for the station... I personally would rather see low budget cheese like this in SyFy vs totally irrelevant programming... Sometimes you get a gem in the rough with these low budget films that for me makes it all worth it...

I love the cheesey movies, more so when viewed with family and friends. It's fun picking them apart ala Mystery Science Theater style:)

Manthing was actually one of the better Marvel movies lately except Ironman lol. I did like Wraiths of Roanoake explaining what happened to that colony.

Moocriket, you left out Highlander: the Source, although it's.... eh.

I wish Syfy and Stan Lee would show season 3 of "Who wants to be a superhero", yet if one of them wins, They only get a 5 minute cameo in one of syfy's original movies.

As mentioned above, there have been some good movies. There was one a few years back, I think it was called "Slipstream" or something like that where Chunk (Goonies) invents a device that lets him "rewind" time. In fact, I seem to remember the device looked like a cool prop....

What about "RED: Warewolf hunter" ?
I dont get syfy where I live but they play the same movies on the space network. I watched RED and it wasnt horrible, plus it had Felicia Day in it. she's one hot geek!

Well, I like that they are trying to create new programming, be it Caprica or Sharktopus - as long as it is on topic.
When they have ghost chasers, horror movies and wrestling, I feel like they want to be the "whorer*" channel or emulate Spike TV. :confused

I did hear Ralph Garmin, a local DJ on morning radio talking about Sharktopus and they played a few clips. He talked as thought they knew all along that it was very campy and totally ridiculous. He plays a ship's captain chasing it or something.

*Get it? Whorer for Horror, like SyFy for Sci-Fi...:rolleyes
Maybe it is cooler if they mis-spell it or they feel like it gives them more programming leeway if they spell it wrong; as if to say "well, we aren't really Science Fiction any more, we even changed our name to be Scyfy, which we define to mean "whatever programming makes us more like every other station (a money earner?)"

If you guys think Sharktopus is better than Caprica it is no wonder why that CR@P is aired!

Hollywood Treasures looks like an interesting show from a "prop" perspective!
