Official Star Trek Phaser Thread

Curse you guys. :angry

After folowing this thread I got the itch for a phaser. So I've bought a AA phaser and I plan to upgrade it.

Curse you...curse you all. :D

Another guy built fiberglass phasers, and made a few kits for his buddies...

Hey RShanko. Glad you made it over to the RPF. [this is JimE2 from ASAP]. Mighty fine phaser. You need to tell the folks over here how you did it.

Welcome.

Jim

This is a great thread,..
but if you wait a few weeks I'll post pics of my new fiberglass V3 pistol phaser, based on the 'glass V2 it'll be the most accurate phaser ever...totally screen accurate... stay tuned. I'm working on it now....

LOL.
:cool

The paint job or surface on those looks kind of chunky. Is that sparay paint?

Also the back knob on the grey one looks off center.

Y'see, I never did understand why the Borg would have "phasers" in the first place. :confused

Borg just "assimilate" you with those nanotech tendrils of theirs. Or else they ignore you as irrelevant. Since when are they blastin' away with phasers on stun? :lol

"Descent" Season six when the Borg are tainted by Hugh.

As for accurate phasers based on an hands on examination of the original hero phaser:

That's amazing.

I never saw a Borg phaser before.. it makes sense they could stun a crowd to assimilate an unwilling group...

...kinda like the former mods at asap tried to assimilate and stun us.....lol.... but we were an unwilling group...LOL.

Thanks for showing us that.. and nice job building it.. are there any other details to it, you can show us ? did they use velcro?..

FB, ...lol.. that's velcro. with a painted stripe on it... pretty lumpy.

Here is the same Phaser I posted earlier, but with mid-grade fins. It takes on a different look with I am Kirok's mid-grade fins and USSCassiopeia's paint.

RShanko, I was talking about the top pics. :p

It looks like they were brush painted with thick paint and the paint strokes are still there.

I could be wrong, but that's what I was referring to. I noticed the same thing on the Coyle phasersin post #76

Technically not a "phaser" (it was called a "laser pistol"), this is a fine piece... built up from a CaptJTK kit by Centralrepair, who gave it a nifty extending and rotating barrel (just like the hero prop seen in "The Cage"...)
