Official Ghostbusters PKE Meter Prop

I saw the posts - maybe there was tape on the top of the prop? I didn't see it in the manual...

I'll read it more intently next time. Thanks guys. :wacko

My brother got his in yesterday. The night before they went on presale he asked if I wanted one because he was literally going to sit in front of the computer for a few hours just to make sure he got one, I said no.

He belongs to the GBfans website and said people were a little embarassed that they were available for a few days.

I myself and truly impressed by these. The weathering was good but, yeah I don't remember seeing it in the movies.

How many were ended up being made? My brother is in the process of building a Ghostbusters proton pack and was excited this was one less thing he had to make.

Unknown, there's a general feeling of maybe a couple thousand as the higher estimate, but we've never had a specific figure to work from.

Quite surprised to hear you didn't remember it, as it showed up quite prominently as the Ghostbusters investigate the haunting at the New York Public Library.

Packaging:...
I will say the box arrived without a mark on it though and I was surprised the white box was just set into another box with no padding.

Mine was packed differently. The white box came in this ginormous shipping box (well, not ginormous, but easily 12 inches larger per dimension) and was surrounded by wads of brown paper. Must have come from a different warehouse.

Mine shows up today!

1st piece of my Ghostbusters costume. Working on the uniform and accessories next then the Proton Pack and wand.

No I remember it being in the movie, in fact I remember it being in Suburban Commando as well. So maybe we got the Suburban Commando edition with weathering.

Who knows, but yeah I was talking about the weathering.

Got mine the other day. Yeah, it's a bit light and obviously feels like a toy, but for $60, it's really fantastic, especially since I've wanted one of these since I was a kid. (y)thumbsup:thumbsup

It's my first Ghostbusters prop, and I have a feeling that I'm gonna end up eventually buying a real high-end replica of the PKE one day. :lol

with how good this turned out, I think we all need to thank Cyland Props for his information website on the prop, its almost GUARANTEED that Mattel used his pages and info for reference, as there he describes the modifications made to it and the light order etc. It probably really helped with their production.

I just got mine and damn do I love this thing. I just have one question though. I can't seem to tell the difference between the GB1 and GB2 modes. It flashes all crazy when you switch them, but then it seems to be the same to me. Can someone tell me what I'm missing, or is mine just wonky?

The matty collector display at SDCC actually had the sequence on it.
GB1: 3-5-7-4-1-6-2
GB2: 3-1-6-4-7-5-2
