Official Ghostbusters PKE Meter Prop

Buying as many as possible and then trading some to select individuals who happen to have something you might want in return, while putting away the rest for later, is based on pure self-interest.

Nope not clear, how do you plan on selling yours to the 'select' few that contact you first, or do you have a list of a 'select' few you have already started to take? Sorry, there is no difference, you will limit your sales to a select few as well that happen to have CASH since that is what you want to trade for... As it stands I won't be putting anyway as I have more then enough people interested in trading already in fact well beyond the few extras I was going to have...

So again where is the hoarding you claim and accused me of?

Helping any and all fans get one doesn't enter into your equation.

And neither does what you are doing, you will have to pick and choose who you sell to as well unless you have unlimited supplies... And since I highly suspect you don't have unlimited supplies there is no difference... Are you going to trade any of your extras for anything besides CASH, or are you excluding those that don't have your preferred trade of CASH? All I see is double standards, being applied... There is no fundamental difference between trading for CASH and trading for another object of value, except in your self righteous world...

Yours are available to a sort-of "in crowd".

Thanks for the laugh, kinda like the guy who sells them on the RPF to the 'RPF in crowd' instead of on another forum or to the kid at the local comic shop that wants one? You mean that 'in crowd'? The people that have contacted me are just regular members here on the RPF (and other forums) they are hardly some elite secret society 'in crowd' (but that is good for a laugh!) they are just members that would rather trade something vs pay cash...

But if I'm to be guilty of helping out this imaginary 'in crowd' that doesn't have cash or would rather trade because they can't get in on any of the other 'supposedly' extras offered by other members because all those people want is CASH in exchange, then be it...

Watching Ghostbusters. You should to.

I have watched it 100s upon 100s of times, even multiple times frame by frame... Although right now I'm busy working on, not so surprisingly Ghostbusters props, some of my 'in crowd' :lol are waiting for parts...

Good to hear you're busy.

LOOK AT THE NERDS FIGHT.

i just want 3. one for play, one when the one for play inevitably breaks, and one because im going in with a friend that wont be able to get on the internet on the 1st.

we know who has good intentions with their pke puchases and the ones that dont. karma has a nice way of showing who's boss.

Maybe he can only afford 1...

Maybe, but unlikely and I quote...

I also plan on ordering as many as I can (if I can get through at all), and selling them in the Junkyard for cost + shipping.

The only difference is he will be offering them for people that want to trade for cash and I'm offering them to people who want to trade another tangible item besides cash... Any extras I have have are already spoken for, so I'm hardly hoarding anything, as claimed... In all those trades I placed a $70 value tag on the PKE, and let the other parties offer up what they felt was of equal value...

In the end the 5 people I'm hooking are more then happy with the "at cost" trade arrangement and that is what matters...

How are you trading and hooking up people with an item that you don't even have, and that there is a possibility of you not obtaining?

Same as anyone else that is saying they are going to sell extras...

When I have them in hand I will contact the traders and do the trade, if I don't get them then the trade simply won't happen... Hardly complicated...

The real joke could be:
We all get as many as we want to buy, and later wonder what all the fuss was about.
Or
We all get shut out, no forum members get any directly, and we all have to turn to the ebay scalpers, who somehow grabbed them all.

*sigh* I too only want one... My fingers are crossed but I'm not hopeful.

As for the feud going on here you should all have a good read of "Atlas Shrugged". Exoray isn't doing anything wrong by looking to trade his potential ability to acquire something that will be difficult to obtain for something he would like. It's similar to what others are doing in that he's not gouging anyone or trading these for significantly more than they are worth which is the real issue.

In that regard what he's doing isn't much different from what others here are hoping to do in selling any extras they get for cost plus shipping. Is it a "select crowd"? Sure it is, what's wrong with that? The PKE is only available to people who know about Matty.com, the PKE's purchased by members and sold in the JY will only be available to RPF members who have money at that time, etc... He isn't being unfair to anyone.

Our issue should be with the jerks that buy 10 and then sell them all for over $100 each.

If anyone buys one of the overpriced ones on ebay that's their own fault and I have no sympathy. Don't approve of their practices? Don't buy from them, PERIOD. It takes willpower but it's kind of like recasting in that if you're going to take a stance against it you should stand by that. That said at the end of the day I'm pretty sure I will be without a PKE meter. :( ;)

As if Ayn Rand is rule.

The problem is not as much what exoray is planning but his attitude. You could count on your index finger how many times he has agreed with anything anyone has said. He has generally taken it upon himself to guard this thread as a troll guards a bridge. That's funny, troll.

She's certainly not. But I agree with the thought that just because someone will receive potential profit doesn't make them bad. The scenario is exactly the same, others here are saying "My getting 10 PKE meters is fine because I won't profit from it, he's bad because he will".

I agree his attitude isn't great but the mud slinging started before his attitude took a dive. Before this came up he was giving people tips on how to be able to get their own.

That's funny, troll.

Whatever :rolleyes

This is the first time I've posted in this thread and I made sure to read all 11 pages before I commented. What I said was perfectly valid and I stand by it.

I didn't mean to call you a troll, I apologize.

There is certainly nothing wrong with profiting in general, but this is not a general situation. The circumstances surrounding this item are uncertainty about availability, issues with the website, and a kind of desperate climate for getting them. These together create a different context or lens through which we look at the situation. Opportunists become scalpers, normal (perhaps well-meaning) members appear scalper-like to some. It's all a little bit desperate, and a little pathetic, but that's part of the fun (if you call it that).

I don't want to argue here, I want to discuss the prop and possibly figure out how best to secure one (and several members have helped, including exoray).

So yeah, no hard feelings, just hard times. Thanks a lot Matty, the community is in frenzy!

Thank you, I apologize for my Roll Eyes. :)

My fingers are still crossed that I make it through the gauntlet and attain one of these bad boys!
