Official Ghostbusters PKE Meter Prop

OK. In addition to my prop fixations, I also collect DC comics toys. Today Matty.com was supposed to debut their "fixed" site for the monthly sale of Ghostbusters, DC Comics andM Masters of the Universe exclusive toys.

It was by far the worst experience so far with Matty.com. A complete, utter craptastic fustercluck.

My previous worst experience with Matty.com took me almost an hour to get an order in. Today it took me over ninety minutes to order two lousy toys. I logged in at 11:45 AM, 15 minutes before the sale started so that I could at least spare myself the log-in hell. At noon, when the sale began, so did the troubles.

Every single step of the process involved prolonged waits for the system to repeatedly refresh itself with the new improved "White Screen of Death." Now, instead of warning me not to manually refresh because I might lose my place in the queue, I was warned that I would lose my place in the "waiting room." That seems to be the extent of the promised improvements. Oh, and Digital River (Mattel's fulfillment partner) closed the "back door" DR server that used to be another way to order--this may be why things were even more overloaded than usual today.

After waiting over ninety minutes, I abandoned my PC and Firefox and got on my iMac and started manually refreshing using Safari. I practically wore out my mouse with the constant clicking, but I ultimately did get through to the order page, the payment page, and did receive confirmation of my order from Digital River. The PC did not get through to the site AT ALL for another seventeen minutes.

This does not bode well for the PKE meter sale in two weeks, which promises to have not only the usual crowd of toy fiends trying to buy, but also the likes of us AND general Ghostbusters fans as well.

My current plan is still to try to get as many as I can if I can get in, and share the rest here for cost and shipping in the Junkyard. Good luck, everybody.

Dang, I too would be buddying up with fellow RPFers but I do not have enough money to order more than one.

I really don't want to miss this one.

im hoping to get two, one for me and one for a good friend. I might just be able to swing a third, but i dunno

I also have hyperdyne kit i plan to install once the matty ones sell out, should be able to recoup something from it.

I saw it at comic con. I feel like a ****** for not taking pictures of it..I was standing next to the employee and some other guy. I had a chance to hold it it, but had to do other things. Kinda regret it now...It look pretty nice in person

Got into work this morning and the night watchman was complaining about bumps and all kinds of 'activity' here last night. Wish I had one of these PKEs in my bag, would have been cool to pull it out and give the place a once-over:lol

Think I'm going to have fun with this toy/prop.

WOW! That didn't take long! I already have takers for all the PKE's I can afford to order, assuming I even get in on December first. Waiting list now started....

I also plan on ordering as many as I can (if I can get through at all), and selling them in the Junkyard for cost + shipping. If enough people commit to that approach, and then follow through, my guess is that there will probably be enough for all the RPF members who want one to get one.

Of course, if I don't get through, I'm going to be looking for one in the Junkyard, same as everyone else. So TomGLFan, please add me to your list, and I'll add you to mine! :lol :confused

The irony after you call me a hoarder... Now you are claiming you are going to do the exact same thing, but let me guess, the fact that you are going to re-sell them in the junkyard makes all the difference over me trading them void of cash to friends and existing customers, right? :rolleyes So re-selling is OK but trading isn't?

Welcome fellow 'hoarder'...

Welcome fellow 'hoarder'...

It's okay that you don't understand, no one else needs you to.

Nothing to understand except double standards... And false accusations by you and others...

The pot calling the kettle black...

You acknowledged that there was a difference and immediately decided to ignore it. You don't understand and I don't care anymore. You aren't going to.

Edit: I think I remember someone commenting on the round LEDs being inaccurate on the comicon version. Looks like they fixed that. December first is edging near.

BTW, most pots are silver now.

The difference, you mean that I'm trading mine instead of selling them for cash?

Are you serious trading is now a crime and bad thing? Wow, if trading instead of selling is a crime, yep I'm guilty as are many others on this forum shame on us... Carry on as the multiple people that have already contacted me about trading for any extras I might get are more then happy with what I'm doing...

If you can't instantly see the difference between your plan and mine, well, there's nothing I can do to help you understand it.

Please try and explain the difference of me trading for equal value 'at cost' items vs selling for cash... I really want to hear your twisted logic on this one... But I expect nothing less then a diversion from the facts telling me that I simply don't understand since you don't have a leg to stand on...

Yours are available to a sort-of "in crowd". Just people who deal with you but (to quote Bill O'Reilly) the "normal everday folks" don't fit that category.

ANYWAY. I still feel a little bit like there won't be that big of a problem on ordering day. Definitely traffic issues, but not availability issues.

But I'll take a stab at it anyway.

Buying as many as possible and selling them all to all comers at cost is simply to get them into the hands of fellow forum members without them having to be gouged by aftermarket sellers. I (or anyone who succeeds at doing this) derive no personal benefit.

Buying as many as possible and then trading some to select individuals who happen to have something you might want in return, while putting away the rest for later, is based on pure self-interest. Helping any and all fans get one doesn't enter into your equation.

Clear? Yeah, I didn't think so.
