Official Ghostbusters PKE Meter Prop

Mattel knows this goes on. But still, they won't lower the limit from 10... seriously, what real fans are going to drop $600 on PKEs in one sitting? None. Only someone looking to both sell out the product and make cash from them on eBay.

Here's an idea. Someone take lists of ten people. Get as many people as needed together at the right time and everyone try to order 10.

Have a second window open on this thread.

The minute your order is accepted. Post here.

Everyone keeps trying until enough are ordered.

A little organization can go a long way.

I have a slow connection most of the time so will likely not get in at all.

Also anyone with $600 lying around could just by them. I am sure there would be no problem unloading them here for just the extra shipping it would take to redistribute.

That kinda makes you part of the problem...

You obviously don't have a clue, and are simply jumping to your ill conceived conclusions...

hurting your comrades here on the RPF by hoarding.

That comment is laughable to say the least, thanks for the laugh though... Hehe funny...

Maybe I should just get one and let the other 9 that I could have secured go to the scalpers? Would that please you? Is that what you plan on doing just getting one for yourself and letting the other 9 you could have secured and returned to your fellow RPF members fall into the hands of the scalpers so that they can rip off your fellow RPF members later? Or letting your fellow RPF member fend for themselves, as you jump up and down that you got one? Maybe you are the one that is actually part of the problem? See how easy that coin flips? And see how easy it is to point the finger in the other direction?

The comment of

is in short stupid, I have seen "real fans" drop $1000 on ONE PKE in one sitting, it's hardly far fetched that those same "real fans" won't drop $600 for 10... In fact I'm willing to BET many "real fans" will in fact drop $600 getting 10 of these units, the people that won't are the casual buyers or collectors...

As I believe I either stated here or on a thread at GB fans I will get my allotment of 10, between my costume, my girlfriends costume and soon to be daughters costume that is 3 units, one will likely be displayed at my workshop in a public display case, another in my office at home in the the box with the other Matty Toy GB lineup, so there is 5 of the 10 used for personal reasons hardly hoardings... Any extras will be used as trading chips for other hard to secure GB related items that I want and thus returned to the community at that time... I have a long history in the GB community of trading back hard to find items to loyal customers and friends when they are looking for something, the PKEs won't be any different...

It's hardly a sinister hoarding motive when someone in the community keeps and item out of the hands of scalpers or someone that would just toss a 'found' item in the trash because it no longer serves it's designed purpose... Most people (except you obviously) would be grateful that someone within the community is securing said items rather then letting scalpers get them...

This is the kind of animosity that dealing with the Mattel site b.s. seems to engender. There will always be scalpers and there will always be those who despise them. As long as items are scarce and people go to scalpers as an alternative, such as the optimistic jerk on eBay, the scalpers will continue to do business. I personally do not support them. If it's meant to be, I will get in on the 1st of Dec., get as many as I can afford, and share the extras here for cost plus shipping. If it's not in the cards for me, I'll try the Junkyard. But let's not bicker here about it just because we have slightly different philosophies....

Okay, I'll take a step back. Are you planning on ordering ten so that you can release the rest back to the community?

I'd be behind that 100%, if people here got some extras, and sold them at-cost just for RPF members. Hell, I know I'm going to order at least two, and only one for myself. If I Ebay the extra, I'll be going for sick profit, but if I sell it here, I'll probably sell at cost, or damn close to it. Depends on what the demand's like, and whether I'm able to get an order in.

I was really hyped about this--seeing it as $60. Then I saw it's on the MattyCollector site--which I hate with a passion. =\ I still need an Adam Strange/Starfire 2-pack of DC figures. lol

Oh well. Best of luck to us all!

You are one confrontational individual. And using them for your own personal gain "trading chips" is not exactly helpful. Not to those who are new to GB collecting and don't have anything to trade to you for whatever value you prize them at. This is a good starter piece and it's annoying hearing the "I'm going to buy four and tear them apart" types.

But hey, animosity over toys seems a bit senseless.

And using them for your own personal gain "trading chips" is not exactly helpful.

Yep, so please follow your own logic and don't get one for yourself as you would only be getting one for your own 'personal gain' as well... Let someone else have yours or give it away as there is no reason you should enjoy any 'personal gain' from your purchase... Tsk, Tsk, what is that they say about do as I say not as I do?

And yes trading might not help you because you have cash vs a item to trade, so you buy one, but what about the other guy that has something to trade but no cash and thus couldn't buy one or missed out? Is no one allowed to help those individuals out down the line with a trade vs cash?

Before you point fingers look in the mirror, flip the coin and look at the bigger picture...

It's honestly individuals like you that make me want to secure 50 of them and scalp the heck out of them, just so you have a legitimate gripe against my purchase...

animosity over toys seems a bit senseless.

Yeah I agree comments like this...
