Official Ghostbusters PKE Meter Prop

Yes Very Pleased! You say that compared to the iona its a bit different, I wonder if these guts would fit then? I was thinking about reverse engineering the model to make an aluminum housing and wings, but I was wondering if anyone allready created a cad model of the real iona?

Still, don't think I will be chopping this one up anytime soon.

man yah gotta love the user manual...

"NOTE: It is not recommended that you remove the inner shell of the PKE Meter. Modification of the device will result in revocation of your non-binding, non-existent Venkmen, Inc. warranty."

I got mine today and I think it is fantastic. It is the coolest toy/gizmo I have ever purchased for $60. It has TONS of functionality and a decent fit and finish. It is really obvious that some hard-core fans worked on it. even the cardboard box is amazing.

What I can't comprehend:

-Anyone complaining about this piece.

-People paying $100 for it when it is $60 on the website.

I give it a 10 out of 10. (And I hate everything) :lol

Its sold out on the website.

I got mine today I like it it won't beat my Iona but this is perfect for cons and goofing off

My only minor complaint is the wings why couldn't they take an extra five minutes to get the shape right

Got mine today, will have to wrap it up till Christmas, but did get to hold it a little looks great. Am very pleased with it. A +++ And I am glad that I didn't have tp pay more on ebay.

Another PKE arrived in MN today :) I got to play with it for a little bit before I put it up as my sons x-mas gift.

My thoughts.

Packaging: The packaging was neat but not the orgasmic awesomeness that a few reviews on Youtube said. The comments on the box (especially the EPA one) wasn't needed.

I will say the box arrived without a mark on it though and I was surprised the white box was just set into another box with no padding.

PKE:

  • Well worth the $60 for anyone who has been wanting one and couldn't justify the cost of a replica one. To get a working almost accurate prop for under $100 is unheard of. Bring on the trap Matty, you have a customer waiting.
  • The weathering is pretty much a waste for me but not that bad. I would have preferred a clean version since the movie PKE doesn't really have any weathering I could see. I guess those who want to try and make it more accurate or smooth out the wording on the handle have an excuse to do so now.
  • The weight is good and it doesn't feel too heavy or so light that it comes off as cheap when using it.
  • This thing is loud! I wish there was a way to adjust the volume besides off and on.
  • Instead of the knob controlling the speed of the lights and sound I wish the speed was medium at startup to half opening, and then would ramp up to full speed as it opened completely. Use the knob for volume control.

In all I'm very happy with it and I know my son will love it. I would have gone nuts on x-mas day if I got one of these when I was a kid. It is a bit expensive as a "kids toy" but a fraction of the cost building one up from a kit.

The knob on the bottom functions exactly like the knob on the bottom of the real prop (to control flash speed)
Im really surprised that they didn't remove it entirely.

I wish my dad had bought me cool stuff.

are the wings on anyones not perfectly together nice? Along the seam i mean? One of my wings looks like the lights are kind of crooked and because of that the halves couldnt glue together totally flush.

I will be sanding mine to get rid of the weathering and writing on the back. Thank goodness for 800 grit sandpaper.

I have a habit of sitting in front of my apartment on delivery days... UPS down the street.

Came in yesterday, and I frakkin' love it. :)

I would have absolutely flipped to have had this as a kid!

What are the black sticker strips for though?

Mine arrived today. Couldn't be happier! Now I'm off to send out the others I scored for four guys who couldn't get on back on 12/1. I don't think it'll make it for Christmas, guys, but it IS on the way!!!
