Now someone on Facebook says their customer service dept. told him over the phone that they are back-ordered and sold out in the first 28 minutes! (Also that people who ordered later than that have gotten them...)

Damn it... this is all hearsay but that better not be the case. I managed to arrange one from a friend in (still no e-mail) and since the order got through, I sold my hand-built unit! Maybe I should have waited until it was actually in-hand but they better not screw this up! :angry
 
Whew! Got my shipping notice today so I'm good. Shipping to Canada likely won't get here by Christmas though. If anyone ends up getting screwed over I do have a couple extras. :)

Yep. That was me. Sorry for the length of this post, but I though I should post it here...

The service reps have no idea what is going on, it's like talking to a brick wall. I called and asked for a status update on my PKEs and why they haven't shipped yet, or better, why I haven't received a shipping email.

This is pretty much how the conversation went after I gave my order #

(I would also like to point out that this IS NOT an exaggeration, this is almost verbatim.)

Me: I'm just looking for an update on my order and why it hasn't shipped yet.

Service rep: Well sir, your order is marked as "In Process" and based on your chosen shipping method, you should receive in 3 to 5 days.

Me: Oh, OK. So it did ship then?

SR: No, sir. It has not shipped yet.

Me: Why not? It was stated that all PKEs would be shipped by Thursday.

SR: It's on backorder, sir.

Me: Do you know when more will be shipping?


SR: No, sir.

Me: Wait... backordered? How is it on backorder?


SR: It was sold out when you placed your order. (My order was placed 28 minutes after they went on sale.)

Me: A friend of mine ordered placed his order a full 24 hours after I ordered mine and not only received a shipping notice already, but also received his product.


SR: Sir, I can forward a service ticket to another office that will be able to answer your questions better than I can and will call you back within 24 to 72 hours to help you. (I agree and she puts me on hold)

SR: Sir, I apologize, I cannot send a service ticket at this time.

Me: Ooooook, do you fulfill your orders in the order that you receive them?


SR: Yes, sir.

Me: Then how can someone who ordered the same product 24 hours after me receive it even though it was "out of stock" when I ordered it 24 hours earlier?

SR: Umm... well, sir.... ummm

Me: Is there a supervisor I speak to so I can get some real answers to my simple questions.

SR: Yes, sir. Let me transfer you to a supervisor (...on hold)

...

SR: Sir, I cannot transfer you to a supervisor at this time.

Me: So, let me get this straight, I call with a simple question about the status of my order, and you have no answers for me, you cannot forward a service ticket to the other office that might be able to help and you cannot transfer my call to a supervisor and you don't know when more PKE will be shipped.


SR: Correct, sir. I apologize.

Me: So what are my options here?


SR: Sir, I can forward a service ticket to another office that will be able to answer your questions better than I can and will call you back within 24 to 72 hours.

Me: You just said you couldn't do that?!?! Can't you just tell me what is going on with my order?

SR: Sir, it has shipped.

Me: It HAS?!?!?!


SR: Yes, sir.

Me: Fantastic! May I please have the tracking number?


SR: I'm sorry sir, it has not shipped yet because it's on backorder. It will ship on December 12th.

Me: What day is it there?


SR: It's the 17th, sir.

Me: ...W...T...F...

I guess my only option is to wait... longer... silently.

Yeah, it is frustrating, my experience calling them wasn't much better...the kind of call centre that seems to act as a firewall rather than a resolution center.
 
I had a similar conversation this morning, no update on whether mine shipped or not and my orders status isn't updated. My order confirmation came thru at 12:26pm.

This is ridiculous, especially since you can't find someone there who makes any sense.
 
I had my order placed 2 minutes into the sale, my confirmation email is time stamped 3 minutes into the sale yet my order is stuck in limbo with no updates... And if it's true (as it appears from all evidence) that they might be short of stock at this moment to fill all orders but choose to not fill orders in the order they came in (aka prioritize based on first come first serve) than that is down right horrible and despicable policy...

They already have a down right questionable ordering system but this appears to be the icing on the cake... In todays computer world where sorting orders is literally a click of a mouse button it's down right beyond comprehension that they would not be prioritizing orders and filling on a first come first serve basis, if they are truly short on stock...

For me it's more of a WTF annoyance, as I didn't plan or expect them before X-mas anyway but it's still irritating to see others actually receiving them while my order is stagnant with literally no answers...

Thanks dude, I really appreciate that, but I talked to the other guys that I ordered for and it's ok with them that they don't have theirs for XMas.

I'm not worried about mine.


I just can't believe how bass ackwards this whole situation is. The constant failures on Matty's part (not just with the PKEs, but pretty much all products since they started selling online) and not to mention a direct quote from one of Matty's press releases that states

"At the end of the day Digital River messed up BIG TIME for us and our customers."


This one in particular is from Feb of this year, but the problems have been consistent since the launch of Matty's site. Matty constantly states that the problems with Digital River have been addressed and will be corrected, but nothing has changed in over two years.
 
I ordered the next day and I have a tracking number that says it shipped and is in-transit and will be delivered on Tuesday.

But my card has not been hit yet and the initial authorization rolled off.

I have NO idea what is going on and I am very confused by the reports here.

I suspect THEY are in the same state. :lol

I just want my toy :cry
 
Just wanted to throw in my experiences using Matty Collector/Digital River:

I've been buying through Matty since the site first went up, so about a year and a half or so because I collect the He-Man action figures.

I'm not sure if this will put anyone at ease or not, but it's been like this from the very beginning. It's some of the worst online ordering I've ever experienced. The call centers are clueless, and they all have different information. When I was trying to place my PKE order, I kept getting credit card declined errors, so I called them up. They said they couldn't help me. So I hung up and called back, getting a different person on the phone who was able to place a phone order for me... Similar experiences with the He-Man toys. Nobody has any exact details.

But, it seems like it always works out in the end. I know they have never over-sold a product, and everyone who was able to place an order will get their item. My guess is that Mattel tried to rush this through in time for Christmas, and some things on the backend got messed up. My only advice is to sit tight...

I can vouch that it's total BS that it sold out in the first 20 minutes or so. As I stated earlier in the thread, I didn't place my order for more than 24 hours after they went on sale, and I've received shipping confirmation, it's due on Monday. According to UPS, it's already on the move, but there haven't been any updates to the tracking since it left the original location. Which isn't necessarily an odd thing, it might not hit again until it gets to Dallas or Houston or wherever their hub is around here.
