Official Ghostbusters PKE Meter Prop

The Mattel at the SD con said that they would like to see these really sell as they hope to expand out the line to other GB props. That being said, it sounds like they are very open to a large production run and that they may do multiple runs if there is a demand. I think they will be pleasantly surprised at the demand on these and that we will see them produced n a larger scale.

I think that the first run will be a sell out, which is a bit of a problem for me as I have no internet access where i now work. So I am going to have to have someone else place the order for me during the day because I really want to make sure I do get a couple from that first run.

hope with something this technically complicated, the first run doesnt have issues that are fixed in later releases..

Hm, well sometimes its not good for a product...

Remember the Flux Capacitor from Diamond? The second Run doesn't have the flashing bulb in die middle...

its difficult to find something to purchase, then to cancel the order because everything is sold out right now.

this website/service/whatever is unnerving with all of its stupid bumps you have to go through to MAYBE get what you want.

I didn't even go to billing, don't want to put my checking account at risk. It does look like my info is in though. I'll wait and see if it still works in a day or so.

The biggest issue Mattel has yet to address on their pain-in-the-butt site is the issue of inventory and the fact that they DO NOT HOLD the item for you for even a brief period of time while you are checking out. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to wait 45 minutes to finally check out and then be told that the item you are trying to buy has sold out while you were locked out of the site. They really need to fix this. Hey, if I'm late logging onto a site for a limited item and I see that it's already sold out, that's one thing. But don't let me put one in my cart, make me wait, finally take my financial info and THEN tell me that it's sold out. It's a crap way of doing business, and if they weren't the only game in town, short of paying somebody else profit on evilbay, they would never get my business. But they are, and they do....

good thing the sale is set for Dec 1st and not the 15th, it keeps it a seperate sale form everything else that month, meaning the only people boggin down the site will be GB fans, not MOTU and DC fans all together.

So at least thats good news by itself

Fully agree. :thumbsdown Mattel and Digital River.

So how does this work? You log in so you're ready, then what happens at noon? The item shows up on the front page, and you just go ahead and add it to the cart?

You log in so you're ready, then what happens at noon?

As long as you login before NOON you will be OK after that good luck...

The item shows up on the front page

No, here is where the fun begins, after Noon you will likely be UNABLE to get to even the front page, you will encounter their white screen of death telling you this site is overwhelmed...

and you just go ahead and add it to the cart?

Not so fast... When you finally get to the main screen you can 'attempt' to add it to your basket you might very well get another white screen of death, and another, and another...

After you finally do get it in your basket you can 'attempt' to check out, again you might encounter that white screen of death, and another, and another, who knows...

Anyway only after you jump all those obstacles and you finally get to finalize your order will you be told if you actually submitted your order before they sold out...

It's NOT FUN in the least, prepare for at least an hour in front of the computer trying to place your order, you might get lucky and get in and out or you might get real with familiar this...

Now, when we see that screen, can we actually BELIEVE it?

I say NOPE...

Last time I ordered I did an experiment, I let one computer sit on that screen while I manually refreshed another computer, guess which on got in first?

Answer: The manually refreshed one, proving that the claimed queue line didn't exist... Or at least I wouldn't place much validity on it from my experience...

Yeah, I ran the same experiment, several times, with several different computers, browsers, and even OS's. I get the best results with my Mac running Firefox and manually refreshing. Other people have told me that using the exact same setup they stay locked out for over an hour. Still others say that the best way to order is with their smartphone's browser. So who really knows....

What do you guys think are the odds of this being a hot item? I mean, aside from us prop collectors and GB fans, do you think everyone in the world will be scrambling to get one? Or are we making a big fuss out of nothing, and the RPF will end up being the only ones rushing the server on the 1st?
