Obscure Ghostbuster pic...

Just watched today for the um-teenth time and a pic caught my eye. It is behind Venkman's desk in the firehouse when Peck makes his first visit. It's the largest pic on the wall, and my best guess is that it's from the '30s. From what I can make out it looks like a group of five-seven people (reverting to memory here so forgive me if I am way off mark), like construction workers of a building. Kind of had a Lewis Hine style/feel to it. I tried to search but to no avail. Anyone have a clue as to what I am babbling about? Just trying to figure out the relevance of the picture to his office and see if it has any ties to the movie. Thanks.

the photo is actually an old shot of the firefighters at that exact firehouse, LA 23. from what i've read, ghostbusters was pretty much the first production to use the firehouse as a film set. i'm guessing the production designers found the photo at the location and decided to run with it. pretty cool if you ask me!

i would LOVE a nice print...

I did a reverse Google image search. I found a nice 1500x1200 version:

that's the version i have, but it was freakin HUGE on the board. i wasn't aware of the wizardry this board offered for thumbnails. :)

Flattery will get you everywhere. After the station was shut down in, or around 1960, it was first used as a film location in 1973 for Firehouse, a pilot starring Richard Rowntree for a series not starring him (worth watching as it's got quite a lot of LA23 locations seen, and not seen in Ghostbusters) - never did find out if the series was filmed there or not.

After that, it was next used as a Chinese mob casino/speakeasy in Hammett in 1982.

Most of the framed photos in Venkman's office are period shots of the station.

Sorry for the late reply d_osborn but thank you for that info. Indeed it's a sweet pic. And honestly I didn't think anyone would be able to identify it...
