No, it runs off of a 9 volt battery. At least that is what I did when I wired the prototype.

Lol. I don't think your all that ignorant of guns down under. No printed sheet, I want to create a video of me assembling one, so that hopefully it spells out all the problems and solutions. But that may be a few weeks off since my work schedule keeps getting filled with work!

Outstanding work. You know, beyond just a repro, you might consider making it as a kit that can be added on an actual rifle. The aftermarket mods for AR base rifles is huge (just look at Magpul, who originated the base gun for this). Considering the $$ shelled out to convert things like a Ruger 10-22 to a bullpup and other cosmetic mods you could easily make the $300 you are charging for the shell. The caveat is you would want to make it so it attaches to the Bushmaster, or better still generic AR15 platforms.

I'd be down for that, currently building a new rifle myself from a stripped lower receiver (that's the NFA part, all other parts of the gun don't require paperwork).

I will be building it with the utmost attention to detail on a custom 550fps WE MSK gas blow back magpul masada.

I ordered a couple of the star LEDs and ordered a couple of those Carlco optics at the same time just in case it looked better with than without. As far as supply/driver, I guess it isn't going to be run for long periods of time anyway so a battery alone should OK.

I had been in contact with Overready about the lights used in the film since I wanted to get the same light from them. It wasn't a Torchlab H1 used. Since what was used was a bit confusing, I asked them for details and this is what Dan from Overready sent. He was incredibly helpful:

Looks like a little context is in order. The Oblivion is not a light made from scratch.
Its a customized version of our 'standard' Moddoolar:

Customized in the sense that we made a head shape from scratch
Standard in the sense that they chose from among our configuration options

We only had 10 watt engines back in 2011, so they got an L3 (L = low/10) - L3 HML

We only have 15 watt engines now, so you got an H3 (H=high/15) - H3 HML

You have an XPG2 4000k neutral H3 HML engine. We made 4 oblivion lights this year, all 4 with the same spec. You can see all 3 that have sold in one this image. One is actually yours, one went to another shop, and the 3rd went to a private dude. The fourth (not shown) is still for sale:

The Oblivion lights use the TL34 / TL35 bodies (same length, updated name)

So too with the tailcap:

Which is configured with this insert:

By the way, Dan also mentioned they bought two of their standard hand lights, but don't know if they were used in the film. I think it's a good guess that it's what Jack used when he went back to the Empire State Building, but you can't see it well enough to confirm.

Philip, Great stuff, first time I have seen the upper body part (in your first pick). I had sourced some of the base components for Mal to keep costs down (carclo etc). I also purchased & sent him an oveready bezel ring used on the torch (link below) so it would have accurate dimensions on the rifle. Would be interested in other dimensions/details of the upper body element.

I can see there are dimples running back in teardrop shape. These pictures are great reference - Thanks for sharing

Wow, that was a super fast response - thanks.

When the kits are finished and I get the bezel ring back with the masada airsoft etc I will use this as a reference. Wish Oveready sold just that upper body part.
