Hello guys. Finall post on this build I swear haha. I am gluing my final piece and I need to attatch the sink handle pommel with the d ring in place. Can anyone tell me where the D. Ring should be from the activator box ? To the right of the box on the side or directly behind it. Again I have searched for reliable photos but I dobt know wugh is accurate. If you own a master replica or a close replica please let me know what you think again thank you guys so much!!!

Why is that? I've seen reference to that before but I'm not sure what the importance is

It only really matters if you are trying to replicate the Chronicles photo, as it wouldn’t be seen in Tunisia. But doing it guarantees you can do either. Mine is drilled incorrectly and while it bothers me, I haven’t wanted to drill another quite yet.

D-ring is opposite the notch, which means it is on a cube with a notch below it.

Hope that helps.

Be careful when drilling the cubes, especially if it's on a true vintage. It breaks my heart when I see cubes that grenade during the drilling.

Oh of course because the cubes are flipped on that version! Mine is mostly modeled after the Tunisia saber so it doesn't much matter, I think mine is drilled on another cube as well. I was worried it was a structural concern or something

Thanks Chris :)

I haven't drilled my vintage handwheel yet either. So from looking at the photos above and everything else I can find the d ring goes exactly centered on the cube above the notch and printed writing as seen in the photo, as shown in red. Can someone who knows confirm this for me?
Edit: man I’m a dork the writing rotates. Lol

Here's something interesting. Which makes things a little more complicated to me as far as drilling a hole for a D- ring.
My cold sink knob has a notch in a different location than my hot sink one does. The cold handwheel has the notch level with one of the cubes the other is almost in between the cubes. This makes me hesistant..

It just means the cubed section on the cold isn’t a good candidate for a chronicles configured hilt. Use it on a Tunisia Instead where we can’t determine the location of the notch.

I guess I could swap cubes or caps too if I wanted. I’m wondering if all the colds are that way, if so we’d know the chronicles was a hot. My assumption is they’re cut all over the place. So each is probably a little different.

Variances could be due to different injection molding dies used over the entire production run (I can’t imagine every single H/C set that was ever made for all the years these were produced came from just 2 dies).
