Obi transistors possible new lead.

A little too tall I think.
It's hard for me to tell without scale.

Actually, the outer ring might fit but the other part is definitely not the transistor part. Plus what about the Logo and text on the original?

I believe it's a real transistor.

Thats what I was refering to.
I don't think the transistor would show enough through the middle of the part on the right in the above pic.

Actually, after doing a quick goooogle search, this may be a promising lead.
It figures theese things are expensive, (like every other piece on this saber) :rolleyes

Killdozer's amazing. :lol

The female part certainly looks like the washer piece, but as we know from past experience this could be a coincidence. So we need to find out if this sort of thing was in use in the UK during or before the mid-70s, and at all likely to be junked--for instance, are there military parts which have the sort of detailing these dies create?

I don't think the male part need be considered for the moment, the female part is the lead in here, that's where the evidence is strong, while the male part isn't going to even wiggle the transistor theory until or unless the female part is confirmed. :)

It would be CLASSIC if this is the part, it would fit right in with the bizarre obscurity and expense of the other Obi parts.

Bump. Any one still looking into this?
I haven't made any progress localy and won't be buying a set online on a hunch.
