Nurhachi Urn painting advice

I just received a resin Nurhachi Urn kit. The casting is rough and it will take some time to finish it. I am wondering if anyone has advice on painting it close to the original prop colors?

If you're doing a fresh looking one, like on the left, you'll definitely need an airbrush to do the fade effect
