Anyone here have the replica crew shirt made by Magnoli Clothiers?:

I am interested in one but I thought I would first see if I could solicit some feedback from any RPF members. Particularly I'd like to know if the shirt weathers similar to the screen-used costumes (that wrinkled, shrunk, stretched, look). It sure looks like they nailed the details, except it looks as if the pink trim on the collar and pocket flaps on theirs is sown on top instead of peeking out from under. Small crit perhaps, but otherwise it looks pretty good, and the price seems about right for a custom-made shirt.

There are several RPFers who have ordered these (Adam Savage even wore one on one or two episodes of Mythbusters), so hopefully someone will chime in.

I just wanted to post a note that the pink trim is now sewn into the edge, not on top and the fabric we're using is more prone to wrinkling, etc than what we were previously using.

Kind regards,
Magnoli

Indy's offerings are top quality. :thumbsup

I've a Nostromo shirt and a Deckard shirt, they're very well done.

I might have to order another Nostromo shirt now that there's been some upgrades!

I love mine. It took about two months to wrinkle up like the on camera shirts. But I wore it to bed a few nights those two months to wrinkle it up.

Everything I've got from Magnoli has been better than I'd hoped. Give him your money without qualms.

Got mine this summer, Magnoli's "Mark II" upgraded version. Good turn-around time; GREAT Nostromo shirt. Worth the dollars, if you aren't a tailor. Just waitng rather impatiently for the balance of my order, LOL...

Bit too white though? :lol

Not if you want to be "where the real work is", ie: Parker's shirt, LOL. Yes the Bridge Officers' shirts were cream, not white. And Ash's was seafoam light blue. I ordered and received what Brett would have theoretically been issued by Weylan-Yutani, a light blue shirt eh. :angel

Oh wow, light blue? Fair enough, I didn't even realise they were available - that's an entirely different kettle of fish....awesome!

Yes BrownClaw--he presently has them in the Engineering Staff colors, which are correct to ALIEN. White as per Mr. Parker, and light blue which Brett theoretically would have been issued by The Company. Of course, he wore the Green-dominant Japan-made Hawaiian shirt during his final days on the Nostromo...:rolleyes

That Hawaiian shirt is something I'd LOVE to get hold of - I've seen few 'similar' ones around the internet but nothing concrete....I believe it was specially made rather than bought from a store.

Shhhh, BrownClaw--I am actively working on having replicated that specific type of Hawaiian shirt. I recently lucked out on ebay, and purchased a blue-dominant Hawaiian shirt of Japanese production, that is IDENTICAL in the patterning as seen on Brett's shirt. Stay tuned, and keep in touch on that one, BrownClaw...:cool

Ash and Brett's clothing is in fact sea foam "green"..... easy mistake to make, I thought they were a light blue until Richie of Richies Armour & stephen210 photographed the original screen shirts and pants up close at Bob Burns house! very subtle and difficult to tell under the practical lighting used on the Nostromo. check.......Alien Nostromo uniforms page 15 #365 and #373.

The shirt worn by Brett was a fairly common design in numerous colour variations, from the 1960's 1970's made of rayon and featuring stylised outrigger canoe's, palms, yachts, rocks, huts and islands! here's one in red featuring a treasure island moniker! another variation I've seen was yellow and had Manhattan" wrote across!
Brett no doubt purchase this in the Solomon islands, the Nostromos point of departure, before either boarding a connecting shuttle or the Nostromo itself?

look forward to seeing your finished SA Brett shirt YuriGagarin61......

kane2122, hey thanks for the information regarding the Hawaiian shirts, and for sharing the images too. Sure thing, when I get the run complete & have the "Brett" green-dominant Hawaiian shirt in hand, I'll share images of it here, on RPF.

I was also thinking about the Magnoli shirts. At first glance they look a little too white, starched, light and linen-ish, although the design looks spot-on. The shirts in the film look like they're heavier and made of more rugged cotton, and they have a more beige or cream tinge. I was wondering if a mild tea-dying of the Magnoli shirt would give it a more antique look. Anyone know what the material is? The website says only that it's a "linen blend". Natural materials obviously easier to dye.
