Nosferatu

It took some time but Monte Ward finally finished this for me. It's a Fishzilla casting of Mike Hill's 1:1 scale Nosferatu. I think Monte did a phenomenal job on it - in person the eyes look incredible. Hard to believe that it's not glass inserts.

Awesome. One of my all-time favorite horror movies. That looks incredible.

Wow - stunning piece there.

Is that how the make-up would have actually looked 'in colour' or an interpetation of how it looked?

Strange not seeing that face in B&W. :p

I think it was just Monte's take on the character. I think the veiny nose was a pretty cool touch.

One would imagine, knowing the limitations of late nineteenth century/early twentieth century techniques, that the real make-up would be very much a pancake make-up.

As an aside, the long fingers he had were paper extensions.

Paper extensions eh?

Papier-mache fingers glued on to the actors hands then?

ob1al, yeah. On some DVD comparison site they were talking about clarity of detail between the Image release and the Kino (better) release as well as several of the B&W cheapies.

Edit: So as to not make this a non sequitur anymore, the point was in one of the grabs, they pointed out how the detail was good enough to see the paper tips.

Very unusual paintjob, what with all those blood veins in the nose.

Always nice to see a different take on an old favorite.

I probably wont sleep tonight thanks to you, but it looks fantastic.....

I love the artistic liberty the creater took on this, the veins on the nose adds to his creepiness
