Non-canon Firefly / Serenity Props

Does anyone here remember the 'fake' vinyl coverings you could put around a soda or bear can? they looked kinda like a real soda or beer, but usually had a fake or funny name?

It would be interesting to see a Blue Sun Bear/Soda vinyl cover to be able to re-use on drink cans/bottles.

Anybody got any ideas

GB, can you post a pict of what the wrap would look like? It does not have to be Blue Sun, just a pick of the type of wrap used.

Thanks.

These are a polyester material that I dyesublimate an image onto.

Well, I'm finally done with my Border money — now I just need to get it printed to my satisfaction...

In other news, I have completed two new thingies for the ship's papers: A commercial license and a blank cargo manifest. Here they are:

http://rapidshare.de/files/24121973/ATA_Certif.pdf.html

http://rapidshare.de/files/24122056/Manifest.pdf.html

Keep in mind these are legal sized — 8.5 x 14 inches.

Now, for those of you who would like to make up your own paperwork, I have some ideas you are free to borrow:

Proof of ownership (the 'title', if you will [the first page])

Captain's certificate / Master's certificate

TG Freight licensed contractor certif.

Commercial business lic. for Mal & ship

Radio / comms Lic.?

Customs stampies? Export, Import? Multiple planets?

Honorable discharge from Independent Forces?

Sworn oath of allegiance to the Alliance?

Transfer of registration (Harbatkin to Mal)

Insurance policy? / Bond?

Now, here are some handy Chinese phrases:

http://rapidshare.de/files/24122464/Chines...erse_1.rtf.html

And here is the text of some possible documents:

http://rapidshare.de/files/24122496/Resources.rtf.html

These last two are Rich Text Files. If you can't 'see' Chinese characters on your machine, all you're going to see is garbage. You should have an option somewhere to enable Asian text support or something like that.

Now go have fun.

I thought I'd contribute. Here's something I whipped up- a BLUE SUN cigarette box. Credit goes to Dr_Slurpee for the Blue Sun logo and UPC.

Hey folks, I just had an idea for some new 'verse weaponry. Saw this little beauty in a book of antique firearms at Barnes and Noble the other day, and I thought it looked like a perfect fit in the Firefly world. 'Scalled the Savage Navy Revolver.

It's definitely got the civil-war feel, but it also feels quasi-futuristic, I think, with the unique triggerguard and cylinder. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any value-priced replica lying around - only several-thousand-dollar fireable black powder replicas. Any thoughts?

I think that would definitely make a cool Firefly universe gun. Slap some Jayne-esque greeblies on it and bam.

I had seen these coins on ebay and thought they would have been great for the Firefly universe, almost better than the actual coins they used because there was no imagry or dates on them to make them look "old".

Looks like those coins belong as part of LOST's Dharma Initiative. ;)

Shhh. I haven't seen past the first season yet. Have to wait for the next DVDs to come out. *plugs ears* la la la la la.

Erm anyway. The coins are pretty neat - and you have a good point in the sense that they don't have any visible connection to Earth-that-was. But, and maybe this is just me, they look more like souvenirs than real currency, on account of their simplicity and lack of detail (bit redundant, but whatever).

Can you think of any way to get that gun in distributable form, considering there's no Denix-esque version? All I can think of is possibly convincing a firearms collector to let someone make a cast of it, and I figure that'd be tough.

They do seem a little too simple for currency. Maybe they could be used as gambling tokens? That would fit... though the ones seen onscreen were gold and had holes I think. What did you search for on eBay to find them?

Sith,

Nice work on the bills.
I'd be interested in seeing if anyone can come up with a good copy of Mal's gun and did anyone see that the ambulance from the movie was found in an airplane junkyard and I believe some group purchased it??
That would have been an awesome find. :)

The coins were found when I was looking for screen accurate coins, the search words I used were "chinese coins". Sorry I have nothing more specific.

These are what I picked up using the same search perameters a few weeks ago.
Out of 50 coins, only one has a date on it & that's 1867.
There are a dozen or more different designs, all the same size - about that of a silver dollar.
Most have no western lettering. Some say One Tael.

Not bad at all. And how much did that bundle'o cashy money set you back?

A dollar each, plus postage.
Looking more closely, they are actually all different, although it's sometimes just that odd character or two that seperates them. Weird.
