Ninja turtle suit, working mouth

hi,
im normally over at the general modeling section, im the guy with the 7ft optimus, lifesize ravage and now ive started unicron,
i was pointed this way after chatting to another board member about 80's cartoons, i really really have to congratulate you on this,it is by far the best turtle suit ive seen, simply amazing, you've made an 80's geek proud, fantastic work my friend. so out of curiousity, how much would a full suit be, i know its $500 for a head, anyway keep up the awesome work.
all the very best

Thanks for your comments, I am very proud of this costume. I have a few options for you.
the full custom fitted suit with moving mouth mask goes for $3000us incl shipping (I am in New Zealand)
I also have the undercover turtle suit that comes with a rubber mask, hands, feet and a hat and overcoat (worn over your own backpack) for $900.
The rubber mask itself goes for $200 or the moving mouth mask for $600(500)
With my feet, hands and mask, you can put a big backpack on to look like a shell then put a large trenchcoat over that and a hat on. You then have a complete turtle costume of sorts that is recognizable from the film and tv show. You could then save up for the thighs, and adapt your coat to show more of the suit, then you could get the shoulder muscles and be able to have the coat open a little, then get the shell and lose the coat, get the arm and kneepads and you are legit, upgrade the the deluxe head at any time. or any combination that works really, you would only end up with doubles of the head and that is not a bad thing.
anyway just some thoughts, hope you get what I mean
Please don't ask for just the mech or plans for the mech, I'd rather stick to doing the whole finished head myself for these, I think I have been getting quality results and getting better with every new build. Cheers so much for your compliments, I really appreciate that people on here know just how hard it can be to get decent results with replicas.
Thanks.
Dex.

Heya Dex. I was at Armageddon in chch in 2008 or 2009 maybe. There was a wee chap cruzing round in a turtle suite. Was that one of yours? I see you mention a kids one in this thread. You still in chch? Hope the quake didn't slow things too much for ya.

Hey, I am actually in ordering process and love the suit. As I´m told I am not alone ;-)...anyone jumped in, too?

I'm guessing this pic will give a clue as to how many others are in on this run.

im a big TMNT fan since i first saw them as a kid, i dont know if i missed one of your posts but what did you cover the muscle suit with ? looks really realistic.

COWABONGA DUDE !!!

no to thread jack, but take a look at this thread i created. deck's animatronics are a little more mechanical, but i may have found a good electronic solution. smaller too :) just need a "scrap" mask to test fit it to. I may also try what deck did and build a wearable head rig to fit it to so it doesn't have to mount to the mask permanently.

Cool. I have made mine as a endo-helmet with a pivoting jaw. it is controlled by a chinstrap that opens the mouth when you talk. the top lip is activated by this movement. There are similar lip movements being done with electronics and micro switches that Chewbacca makers use.
It may take some trial and error to achieve decent results, I've been developing my system since 1993.

The word genius is often overused, but I think I could use it here with no problems at all. Simply outstanding. If I was wearing a hat, I would doff it to you. Much respect and please keep up the great work down there in shakeytown. If you ever know of one of these suits coming up my way, Wellington, please make sure you let us know as I would LOVE to see one in action!
