Ninja Turtle costume build - based on the original comics

Started in on a Ninja Turtles costume (most likely raphael, but may make a few sets of weapons to play as other turtles) This is my first build with EVA foam, and my first wearable build.
Day 1 consisted of measuring out proportions from the necca toys based on the comics, and checking through the comic books for reference photos. Then watching a lot of youtube clips on working with EVA.
I got this far on day 1:

Day 2 consisted of starting the head build. Used the method of bending the eva within a bowl to create the dome, and then shaping it to fit my head.
Originally wanted to make the eye holes functional, but based on proportions and trying it on, I think I'll end up having a slit below the bandana to see through. plan is to wrap the bandana section in fabric. Still figuring out how to form the lower part of the head. Leaning towards upholstery foam.

Day 3, still waiting for upholstery foam from amazon. So I added the side pieces to the shell to make the shell and front section wearable. Also started forming some duct tape hands.

Fantastic! I love the turtles and some people have done amazing things with turtles from different eras here. I have to admit to being a fan of the 80's movies and the comics, so well done!!

Took some time off from this, but back at it now. Got the head sculpted out of foam. Adding a few layers of bondo. Got the hands and feet roughed out. Will post pics soon.

Some updates... sculpted the head out of foam, adding layers of bondo, needs a ton of sanding, but the shape is getting there. test fit some 'teeth' skinned the bandanna and dome. Made feet out of old shoes and added soles. need to tighten up the skin on those a bit, but the idea is there. Started on a belt from EVA, not sure if thats going to work. Finished the elbow and knee pads, still need to make ankles and wrists to hide the glove and shoe seams. Green undersuit arrived in the mail as well. Once it is all put together I'll add a layer of green fabric paint to the suit, as well as the hands, feet, and head, to make all the shades of green match better.

I can never get enough of these kinds of builds.I love the TMNT concept and the movie from the '90s.
I wish you the best of luck for your costume and hope that it will be a great success!

First time trying on the full suit. Thinking I need to curve the front panel a bit more, and try to match the green of the undersuit to the head/hands/feet more. I'm on the fence about adding a layer of muscles on the forearms and calves.

Yeah, the front panel is defenitely not curved enough. Also,if I may say so,I think the shoes stand out too much.

I think if you shaped some muscles on your lower legs you could blend in the feet a bit more. they see a bit too long as it is.
The face and shell look great though.

Progress update. Got my sais in the mail from Jeff Thomas cosplay, he did a great job on them! Got the color on the undersuit to match the head/hands/feet and added comic lines to the suit. Managed to paint my skin a bit through the suit while doing it, but hey, it worked. Made a set of muscles to go under the suit out of upholstery foam, and it's all coming together.
