Nike Mag's - It's About Time - VIDEO!

Re: Nike McFly's - It's About Time - VIDEO!

So we have a day one average of $6,079.52.
Let's see if that average goes down.

Vivek was cool enough to volunteer for the second night. As long as people keep volunteering I think we can get the most accurate numbers. This is a site for the most dedicated fans right? :love

will someone volunteer for the 3rd night?

Wait, will ebay be taking a percentage? if so that is kind of shady, not to mention the money they will make from paypal fees. Because they would stand to make around $90,000, they take 10% right? And how much does paypal take?

Re: Nike McFly's - It's About Time - VIDEO!

Even if the "average" declines, I would suspect those with deep pockets will still do whatever they can to buy these up with intentions on "flipping" them down the road for incredible prices.

Don't hate the players. Hate the game.

I think what bothers me about it is that he earned the money from rapping.

It takes no talent to rap, I am sorry, it's talking over computerized beats now days most of which were not created by the rapper.

So the guy earned money from talking. There is no glory in that.

Um... Jealous much? Rapping well takes talent. Same as singing, playing the guitar, etc. It is not just talking. This smacks of condescension.

I think it sounds like you need to get out more - or get a basic education in the wider world. For your own sake :)

You can like rap, or rap yourself. But it does takes WAY MORE talent to play guitar, drums, and singing, etc, so long as you do it well.

I've played 5 instruments in my life, and someone who might have musical knowledge in one instrument can generally pick up another one and learn it because of past knowledge of others.

Someone who raps, could not play an instrument to save their lives, otherwise they would be musicians and not rappers.

9 times out of 10, the rappers don't even make the beats themselves, the people who make the beats require talent, rappers just talk in rhythm over the tracks that are laid with written down lyrics.

But if we end up arguing over this let's do it over pms. This is a thread about shoes.

***EDIT***

This is also saying rap TODAY and music bands TODAY don't count since the talent is fleeting.

Rap and Music from the 80's and 90's counts since it was new and from the hip.

That's your subjective opinion. One could easily say rapping takes infinitely more talent to master. Any old person can play the piano. See how that works in reverse?

I've played 5 instruments in my life, and someone who might have musical knowledge in one instrument can generally pick up another one and learn it because of past knowledge of others.

This has absolutely nothing to do with rapping taking talent.

Someone who raps, could not play an instrument to save their lives, otherwise they would be musicians and not rappers.

What does this have to do with rapping talent? Many doctors can't play bass, I guess they must not be talented physicians.

In any event, a completely ignorant statement. Many rappers play multiple instruments.

9 times out of 10, the rappers don't even make the beats themselves, the people who make the beats require talent, rappers just talk in rhythm over the tracks that are laid with written down lyrics.

Where are you getting 9/10 times? Please provide a citation. Many rappers do develop their own beats. Real rapping isn't just talking, it's a form of poetry.

But if we end up arguing over this let's do it over pms. This is a thread about shoes.

There is no argument here, you are flatly wrong. You are making broad sweeping generalizations about a style of music based on your own prejudices.

You're right though, this thread is about shoes. Which is why you should have never digressed into a rant about how rapping doesn't require talent.

Re: Nike McFly's - It's About Time - VIDEO!

So I went to pick up my bottles from the NIKE event theater and I go into the backroom and there I see several (7-10) large boxes (3 feet by 3 feet) FILLED with the shoes!

They were just tossed in there.

And next to those boxes were black NIKE boxes with the word REJECTED on them. So I am assuming that ALL of the shoes that were in the smoke filled glass case (which were about 200-300) were ALL rejected shoes!!!

I picked one of them up and held it. They are BEAUTIFUL! Even if these were rejected shoes.

You guys don't know how hard it was NOT to just take a few and RUN! :lol......:cry

Good, you didn't take them Brad. But somebody eventually is going to get away with those.

Twitter

"Live auction more your style? Get to Nike Santa Monica ASAP! Auction starts at 10:04pm. Every $ goes to @MichaelJFoxOrg "

"You'll need to pre-register for the live auction and space is limited, so get there soon. Ceramic replicas will be on sale as well."

Maybe they will sell these after the auction?? Still holding out the very slim hope that I can one day get a pair of these...

Re: Nike McFly's - It's About Time - VIDEO!

That Fred Flintstone running sound effect comes to mind if Brad optioned to make a hasty escape with those rejected wares.

Most folks would have thought doing the same given the circumstances considering the ultimate fate of those discarded shoes are likely to be pilfered by staff or destroyed, still a sturdy moral compass kept you honest and kudos to you sir for having it.
