Are there any plans to ever release them as a regular release later on in the future?
No. To preserve the value of what people will spend for these shoes and the money that will — and hopefully, again, that’ll be as much as we can get for each shoe, so the amount of money to charity is the most we can come up with — In order to preserve that, we’re not going to re-release this shoe and we’re not going to commercialize it any further. What you will see, though, probably sometime in the future is that there will be some– this shoe has already helped inspire some unique design features on some new shoes and we are committed to designing shoes in the future that do come alive and do sense your body and do certain things, so this is a precursor to the future of probably all athletic shoes we design.

Between the shoes and the DeLorean, I'll take the DeLorean.
I'm rather torn here. It's great that this is going to a good cause, and if things continue the way they look, they'll reach their financial goal, but at the same time, I feel like the majority of the fans are missing out on something that they've been itching to get for over 20 years now.
I know Tinker said that this is likely only a one off, but here's to hoping that later on Nike either does a more general release, or (even better) actually gets around to the self-lacing shoes.

I certainly hope that comes true. It kinda makes sense that way (in terms of the films. Though the McFlys may have had it hard, you would think Marty Jr. would still have some recent footwear)

I think it's a no-brainer personally.
The question that they must have asked themselves a GAZILLION times is -Fans (with money coming in slowly over a long period of time) or Parkinson's research (as they are doing now, with tons of instant research money in 10 days ) ?
They chose wisely for the MUCH greater good IMO.

True. From a financial and marketing viewpoint, they definitely chose the more logical solution.
Still stinks that they chose to release this at a time when the economy has been at its worst since the 1930s.
