You definitely need go a full size down, they'll fit like a glove. DO NOT get your normal size. They'll be ridiculously loose. If you do a sock type toe slim then you'll still be able to comfortably wear them, too.

Which makes me hope someone out there still has their MP MAGs and does this mod to them. They would look pretty neat with that mod.
I am sure glasses bought US8 or US8.5 for his V2s because he wanted the shoe tighter after doing a sock toe slim.

Decided to redo my paint as it was cracking and really bringing down the whole look of the shoe in my opinion. Went for angelus this time so hopefully should be a lot better.

Also decided to tackle the heel cup as this is one part that really bugged me about the V2s. Used a dremel on the back the midsole to try and make the heel cup look longer and more rounded. You can see in the last picture how the top of the midsole has been dremelled so it is now technically part of the heel cup and the whole thing is a lot less substantial.

Kinda risky mod, but its definitely done a lot to solve the heel cup problem.

I like the shape you have made. This looks like a safer way to do this mod compared to the way I did mine. Did you cut it all the way to the heel cup? If so, what holds it all together? When I popped mine out, I re-glued it to the outside of the mid-sole and made it way stronger than it was before. I was a little shocked how little glue had been used to hold these together. My method gave almost 1/4" of surface contact. However because the original wires were glued in to this part, one heel cup got a slight tear.

The advantage I got popping the heel cup out and gluing it down was physically shortening the back of the mid-sole but at the expense of it losing its shape which meant I then had to build it up using grey rubber. I think I will go this route for the US8s as it just looks easier than what I did.

Soon I will be getting 25mm tall MAG letters machined into a piece of Perspex. From there I will be able to make precision shaped MAG letters to replace the very rough hand cut ones I currently have on my shoes. I really think the larger letters make a world of difference, but only once you expose more "butt" on these shoes.

I didn't cut at all, I used the sanding heads on the dremel to kind of carve the heel into the shape I wanted....then kept going in further on the bottom, leaving the top part to be rounded into the 'butt' part.

I would definitely love some bigger letters, the heel itself is about as rounded as it can go right now as in a couple of areas on the left shoe the rubber is getting very thin (though not on the right shoe which is a theme for these V2s) so im not sure how much more I can do with the method I've already used.

Cut, sand, grind. All useful for stock removal :)

I guess because my US8s are a display pair, it won't matter if they are not strong. They are literally falling apart just sitting there on the Hover Board anyway.

Haha, yeah the dremel I bought to do these shoes was definitely worth it! Its seen a lot of work so far.

Yeah a display pair can be barely hanging in there as long as they look good

Mine is not even a Dremel brand and has paid for itself 10x over. I'll buy two next time i see them at Aldi.

That is the problem, they don't because they are falling part. The glue has let go on both heel cups and on the straps where the velcro attaches. My wear pair look better.

if you look beyond the Doc Brown 2015 visor, you can see the strap has not only fallen off the right shoe (because the velcro let go), the strap logo fell out as well. Both shoes have popped heel cups which I guess will be handy later on when it come time to mod them.

and these haven't been worn at all? that's crazy.

And the room they are in is my cinema, so probably the most temp controlled room in the house too due to the wall construction.

I just got a sample pair of the "unbranded" Sports strap version replicas.

The soles are identical to the HC version, but the uppers have the exact same stitching and fabric used as a standard V2 shoe.
Only the upper half is different, as it uses a really short shiny vinyl floppy section.

Its like a hybrid of HC and V2.

The HC shoe uses a darker fabric compared with the V2 and this new Sports brand version.

Are they the same height as the V2 or shorter?

Shorter Yes.
On top of that, the main upper before the top half begins is slightly short too, so overall it looks too short.

Really thin and floppy too.

Disappointing. They do still look better than the HC. They might be OK if they had been all cloth.

If you think NIKE will release the MAGs again, don't hold your breath. Won't happen

Yeah and the promise to contact all RD MAG owners will probably be via an email on October 21 saying "The Future is Here".

Anyone have a set of Markpoon's El Light Strip light up NIKE logos they no longer need? I need to replace one on my straps that I accidentally bent the strip modding my shoes and the EL now has some dark markings on the EL when lit up. I actually only need one of the EL light NIKE logos only. Please let me know.
