i broke one my my el soles when i was removing the gum soles on my v2s a while back but after moving on to the next shoe i learned to take my damn time lol just be very careful and just take your time and go slow i was lucky enough to have an exact match of my el sent to me for only 5 bucks but now that i know what i do ill be taking it slow on other pairs. on another note does anyone know what would be needed to add a charging jack for rechargeable 9v to the shoes?? i think @Jedifyfe made a pair like this but i really cant put my finger on whether its in my head or not aha

Yeah, going slow is key! I managed to save my EL but used a new one anyway as it meant i could shape them better. Never really liked how my ELs looked until I re-did them for these soles.

For the charging jack..I believe you just need to get the jack and plug and then wire up the jack like this....

That diagram was posted on here before, so that's what i followed and it worked for me.

And then to make the charging wires, you just need 9v battery clips to wire to the input jack. Just use the charger you ordered then.

And yeah I believe Jedifyfe's are rechargeable, as well as Taff83 and a few others.

Search 'DC Jack' and that should bring up loads of different ones.

I'm holding out for the Cavx buckle, definitely a fan of your work :)

OK so these need some work. Here is the old vacuum formed part against the 3D printed part. Note I have cut the strap piece off the 3D printed part which allows it clip over the rubber buckle on the shoe. This means you don't have to cut the strap to fit these.

So what I intend to do is mod the vacuum formed part to hopefully be a closer to the part seen on the screen used shoe. Also it will slightly smaller than the 3D printed part which should work out nicely with the smaller sizes.

I like the look of that a lot! Huge improvement over the standard V2 buckle.

The only thing left to correct then would be the uppers.

I'll probably make a start on those in the coming weeks.

The uppers look way better after one changes the "accessories" (sole and buckle) on the shoe. Your uppers actually look really cool. I think the best things to be done are the toe slim (yours is just steam?) and the tongue extension which really changes the look. I do like my "fatter ass" heel, but that mod is not for the faint hearted.

just got home and my 9vs finished charging so far so good theyve been in my shoes for about 30 minutes and the leds are still going bright as hell so im pretty excited to see how long these things last on a full charge. i went ahead an bought what i needed to add charge ports to the back of these only cost 19 bucks should be here next week.

update just hit the hour mark and still going exactly as bright as when i turned them on im feeling pretty good about going with these battery's now lol gonna let these drain until the leds shut off i plan on only having them on for pictures at comic on and then once the sun starts to go down enough to see the lights ill be leaving them on. so far so good.

update 2 2 hour mark and the green leds have gotten slightly slightlyyyyy dimmer still good though. im very confident that these will last me through comic con woo! i still have 3 extra sets of batteries i can have in my bag if i want a super fresh charge once they dim out completely but the way things are going ill most likely be home when that happens lol if anyone is intrested hgeyre called ebl 600mah rechargeable 9v i know the ones @Jedifyfe recommends are 800mah but they're from china and these can be easily found in the states for those of you who dont want to wait fro them to arrive.

ok 4 hours in and the green leds are noticeably dimmer but still in which is crazy to me when comparing to the 35 i used to get before the green would die completely with regular 9v im super happy with these batteries and i def recommend them

ok final log 5 hour mark the green leds are now out i say these batteries are totally worth getting and having a full light display for 4 full hours before the leds start to shut off should be more than enough for going out to a party or cons where you'd only have them on for pictures or when the lighting condition's allow for the el to be seen

Yeah mine is just steam, I'm pretty happy with that.

You are right, the more I change the other bits on the shoe the happier I get with the uppers. I just wish I had taken more care of them, they are starting to look a little scruffy after so much modding.

I'm sure i'll give some scratch uppers a go in the future, but right now I'm so happy with my mags the way they are, I've actually also managed to find the closest match to the elastic on the RDs so I might change to that soon.

I finished gluing the second sole last night, so just need to paint that clear gloss on it, and then I'm done! :)

Awesome. Pic please :)

Yeah I like your toe slim. Mine used to be really flat but it seems from heaps of wear they have taken on a slight roundness again.

I cleaned my MAGs up for SuperNova this week end and get I meet "Doc Brown". If I can, I will get him to sign inside my Tube Bag.

There will be loads of pics, got some new batteries yesterday too so they will be all lit up!

How did you clean yours? I want to give mine a clean when I'm finished but not sure about using soap etc on the fabric.

After reading this decided to go ahead and order 6 of these for mine, will be cool to have some spares.

I like those, I mistook the last picture for RD's. I reckon paint the sole a lighter grey and resplatter it, and upgrade the buckles like MT said. Then you would probably have the best pair.

100% agree about the light grey sole and maybe a matte finish. Could be the most accurate V2s ever, congrats!
