This is very cool. Will both shoes have Fett or is the right going to have Boba?
hey cavx i assume you still have the original leds in your shoes so i thought id ask you how long are you supposed to charge these things? i just depleted my battery to see how long it would take out of the box it took 2 hours to deplete so now i want to make sure i get a full charge so i can see how long they last

Hey guys. Been here for a little while just kinda reading and researching. I have a post on here about this but it isn't getting a lot of attention, and I just had a side question separate from my post. I have a pair of the V2 air mags and what I'm curious about is if there are any members here at all that will update them for you to make them better? Now I don't really care about the overall appearance of them and how "accurate" they are. My main and most important concern is the reliability and longevity of the wires and electronics inside the shoe. Now I have watched and read tons of tutorials on how to do this but I am in no way shape or form comfortable trying to accomplish this myself. Not on a $250 pair of shoes. I'd much prefer to just pay someone to do this who has a lot of experience with these shoes and these modifications. I'm extremely sorry for hijacking this post if that is what I have done, I'm just looking for somene who does these modifications for people. I already have the shoes just need someone to make them reliable and that I can wear them on a daily basis without worry of the lights or electronics.

Nope. All ripped out and replaced. Batteries were cut out as well.

People do modify these but they will charge you almost double the cost of the shoes. It is not easy work

I use to charge $1400 for the conversion. I've done 16 of these and I have now stopped doing them. I've even sold completed pairs for $2000. My suggestion is to learn to mod these yourself for two reasons. First, it will save you money. Secondly, if you ever need to fix your shoes, you can do it yourself.

I just don't feel comfortable doing this myself. I've never messed with electronics or wiring or these light things or nothing. I'd hate to guinea pig a $250 pair of shoes. I'm not worried about what someone would charge me for it. I just want to find a good trustworthy person that uses really good parts and can do it for me.

my suggestion with trying something for yourself is to try assembling a lighting set outside the shoes, then go down to a store which sells cheap shoes (my local Kmart sells Adidas kind of copies for $9 at the moment) and then try working out how to put the wires through. At least then if you wreck the shoes doing it, not much loss. I've been lazy and haven't replaced my lights because they still haven't broken. Luck and not wearing them much probably.

These shoes are not like other shoes in that they seem to have an inner and outer shell made of the same fabric. Also there is foam between the two layers, there is also a cavity that will allow you to run your wires. I doubt that you will find 'other' shoes with this.

To re-wire the shoes, I used a plastic chop stick and began working it from the sewn charge port hole around the shoe to the bubble on the heel cup. Once there, I sliced the outer fabric only with a scalpel and pushed the chop stick through. I then taped my new wire to the end of the chop stick and pulled it through.
