Nike MAG replicas (V2 and V3 only)

Also, I tried buying those Footcare ultra insoles, but I couldnt get them shipped to the united States. So, I settled for Dr. Scholl's extra support insoles

I'm going to get another pair and remove the original insoles.

I've killed a bunch of panels testing stuff, and I swear this helps a ton. Its an easy thing to do too when your replacing a panel!

On a side note if anyone has some spare parts...I'll trade 2 pairs of my new EL panels for 2 original LED boards with plastic bubbles. If you have some spares, let me know and I am sure we can work something out.
i might have some leds but not the plastic bubble...

These are "Shocare". They are grey, very good at adding support and absorption and are in US sizes, so fit perfectly in these shoes. .

Well, I don't have any V3's size 9 to compare my 9.5's with, but here's some photos of the 9.5's compared with others. The two shoes they're next to are genuine Air Max 90's and Air Max 95's (bought from footlockers) so the size seems to be about right for 9.5's US - just that small toebox makes them feel a bit smaller than they actually are I guess.

These are US10.

So nobody seemed to take any notice about my comments at being charged $160 for replacements and told that was the same for everyone now not $120

I was back and fourth with QC , being picky as these where the second pair which led to me giving up a pair i wish now I had took. In the end these are what I got having tried to reject them due to the mark on the heel pad but told they have some flaws like this. there was some marks on the tounge too but they cleaned it off pretty much so felt I had to accept.

When the shoes are in hand I wish i had rejected as that mark on the heel has ruined these for me , If anyone knows a way to fix this maybe with heat or something please comment. In my opinion these should never be even given to a customer for QC , I have not seen a single shoe from the "V2" run that had this problem yet seems a consistent issue on these V3's

I have also noticed while both size 11's the soles and overall shoe length is different , and when compared to the previous pair you can see what a difference there is in the colour.

Ive taken the time to upload photos to show you all the differences, please take the time to reply.

looks like the replacement shoe is a bigger size. either they've mislabelled the shoe or messed it up.

Having worn these, I don't think adding an in-sole actually helps prolong the life of the EL. However, being mindful of how you get in and out of a car, bend down and generally how much bend you make to the mid-soles, are what will keep the lights on.

I negotiated the price with them and I also DID NOT reject pairs because of "faults". I opened each photo, looked for issues and then placed the order. I excepted that there would always be faults (glue stains, creases in the buckle, yellow soles etc). Yet my replacement pair is next to perfect, so it really is just luck of the draw here. All I have ever asked for is "clean shoes, working lights".

Pair #1 -

Has virtually a perfect glue line on the left shoe, yet the right is pretty bad in comparison.
Has a big dent in the left buckle and a pen mark (maybe that was done to point it out?), right buckle is fine.
The strap logo was misaligned on the left shoe, all good on the right.
The swoosh alignment is off on this pair from left to right.

Pair #2

Has clean glue lines on both shoes.
Has close to perfect alignment of SWOOSH.
Has good alignment of strap logos.
Has no dents or marks on the buckles.

Yet both pairs 1 and 2 have yellow soles even though the QCs suggested clear or even icy for pair #1.
Both pair are the same size, but pair #2 had 9.5 written in pen on the white card collar insert.

I've run the batteries flat in pair #2, charged them up and they are all good.

I didn't get a charger with my first pair, so I ended sourcing a pair of USB to 0.7mm charge leads. I have a dual USB device that seems to output 5V 2A for both ports, so it makes charging these quite easy. Yesterday I found a dual charger that is more portable than the unit I have at home. Not that it matters, I won't ever wear this pair.

I have heard that a light amount of heat will fix the dent in the buckle. These buckles are a type of foam, not the flexible rubber of the V2. I wish they were a little more robust but they are what they are.

Yes these shoes are expensive and I understand the want to have them "perfect" but as I have said before, we should be grateful to even have these shoes, especially for the price.

Yes, I was expecting the flexing to be what breaks things. Now that my wear pair have started to fail I can wear them more and not be worried about them. I'll just leave the lights off when the battery goes flat, and they can be a regular sneaker. I wore one of my HC's today and noticed that while the toebox being softer does help, in general they're less comfortable than the V3's.
and @agentsmith - that top pair, while strangely larger, looks awesome except for the heel dent. I guess it might be able to be sorted by putting a hairdryer to it, but be careful. Heat might shink the foam. Move the hairdryer back and forth over the heel cup and gradually get closer, seeing what happens. Other than that, you could use a flexible filler compound to fill the dent, then tape up the rest of the shoe and spray the ankle buckle (with a water-based paint so it will flex and not crack - also some oil based compounds react with foams) and sand that off with a really fine sandpaper, then repaint over the top for an even coat. Try that idea on an unrelated shoe first, like an old cheap or wrecked one. Hack or dent some of the midsole foam and then see the best way to make it look like it was never there. It can be done, with a bit of time and patience (I've done this with timber many times) and I know it'd be much preferable to not have to 'fix' anything on a $500 shoe but they sure are better than anything we had access to before. Man I wish Nike could have released this model 20 years ago, even without the lighting, I would have had so many over the years.
I had nothing to offer about the 'replacement' pairs because I accepted and purchased both of mine at full price, since nothing was majorly wrong with them. I think a lot of us weren't ignoring you, just didn't have anything useful to add.

Yes, I was expecting the flexing to be what breaks things.

Think of this as a flat piece of paper with an x,y axis. You can bend it in either direction, but CAN NOT bend in both directions at the same time. Test this out on card stock of the same 0.4mm thickness and see if you don't get a crease. That crease is what would be the same as delamination and ultimately breaks the EL.

And all white. Some great customs could be made then. Also keeping them white also looks good.

Yes the all white shoe would make a great base for a custom colourway, but good luck keeping an all white, cloth shoe clean if you are just wearing them.
