Nike MAG replicas (V2 and V3 only)

wow I'm having a bad time with shipping. Now customs delay?! At least they're finally in Melbourne..... if the soles arent completely yellow by the time I get them that would be nice.
To be fair, this was not sneakerahead's problem, 90% of my waiting was due to the shipping companies delaying, sending back, etc.
Let's hope the second pair I'm saving up to get aren't this much of a wait...... feeling even more impatient than the first time I ordered V2's.
Fingers crossed for a tomorrow delivery as per the schedule so far.

I've tried to submit a payment through WU, however it got declined stating that I should walk in to an actual outlet to submit payment.
That aside the conversion rate is a killer! :(

Yeah, tell me about it.

600.00 USD=782.197 AUD
Go to an AustPost Office to make your Western Union payment. They are generally pretty quick to process it and you pay a transfer fee as a part of the payment. Just be sure to have all David's details with you.

You can also opt for an text to your phone to advise you when David has collected the money. Your receipt will have the MCTN (Money Currency Transfer Number) which is your proof of payment between you and David. Best to Skype that number to him ASAP.

I'm only one inch taller than MJF and I wear a size 8 normal shoe. And I don't have big feet compared to my body size. So unless he has baby feet or they made the shoes too small for him, I doubt he wore a size 6 in the movie.

He does in fact actually wear a US7 / UK6, this is a photo I took of a pair his Nike Bruins at Universal Studios, you can make out the '7' in the neck area.

@NickyMabbs What else for BttF do they have on display there? Also, you need to purchase the VIP ticket to get in?

Yes, you need the VIP ticket. I was lucky enough to go in for free as a friend of mine is a screenwriter & was employed by Universal at the time. There's not a huge amount of BTTF related items there, but for me, the icing on the cake was being able to wander around The Courthouse Square & walk where filming took place. Was a great experience. Definitely worth it if you have the opportunity.

I am fairly certain (especially since David isn't producing these V3's) that they are injection molded polyurethane, one does not simply "add blue" in the injection molding process. I am using urethane rubber for my clear/blue soles, this of course is a 2 part mix which you can simply add pigment. The urethane I use is UV stable and doesn't degrade them same way polyurethane will. Polyurethane will always degrade, they can slow it down...but it will always degrade (hence the yellowing) this is why even Nike's will turn yellow eventually, most clear soles are injection molded polyurethane.

I'm glad I finally got some backup on this. I tried saying this same thing a few weeks back. So thanks for making me feel like I'm not crazy. :lol

i wonder if anyone has actually screen matched this pair to a specific scene. Also his pair from the first movie were his personal shoes, so I'm curious if they even exist anymore along with the fact that there were multiple pairs and stunt people that wore larger sizes than MJF. Supposedly even multiple sizes of mags were made.

Having said that, it could be done as all the videos I've seen of this have two big hoses feeding the gun.

And when you described this a few weeks back, you made it sound like injection molded plastic where small beads are heated to a melt point and forced through a screw. That is a very different process. The rubber for these soles probably is injected, but through two flexible hoses that mix in a head unit because both parts are a liquid. They also have baking units for post cure. The only way a home DIY guy like myself can do that is to leave the parts in a box and place that box in hot box. regardless if a hot box is used or not, the post cure time is 72 hours to reach the full hardness of the A65 for the product I use.

Also there is elastomers and polyurethanes in the clear flexible rubbers. Both have similar qualities, though elastomers are more in line with professional applications and a bit more difficult to use. My first attempt back in 2012 was an elastomer.

I know I used to have a picture in my reference folder of another pair purporting to be his Bruins from the film...and they looked nowhere near as neat and clean as these.

I seem to remember them being on display in Germany if that helps anyone else look through their collections of pictures.

I'll have a quick look and see if I can find it.
