Nike MAG replicas (V2 and V3 only)

Here is a side by side comparison. Right shoe was done with 2 coats of Rust-oleum Crystal Clear Enamel with a q-tip (a small brush might be better though) it's really hard to replicate how the lights look in person, but with the coating you can definitely see the individual LEDS.

These ankle bubbles are like a matte texture basically, which is what makes them look diffused...as far as I understand when you put the clear coat on it basically fills in the texture making it more transparent. You can test the same thing on clear acrylic by sanding it with fine sand paper, if you don't want to try your shoes. Going to try something a little different with the left shoe.

This actually caused me problems when I was making my Jawa costume eyes. I used orange paint on sanded vending machine eggs. It smoothed them back out.

Ended up sanding the eggs and using orange LED instead. Problem solved....:cool

Wait, are your EL's broken? The LED's are on, but I don't see the EL's?

No, they are on...but the light I used to focus the camera on the LEDS drowns them out on camera. In person they are still on but the picture I guess doesn't look like it lol

Oh, ok. Whew! I'm on the fence about the V3's, and if the EL's stopped working, that would have been the final nail in the coffin

Maybe it would be a better idea to request the swooshes be left unattached because that is the most common flaw. The imprintation of where they messed up. Seeing how they probably make them to order, that shouldn't be a problem.

I have a question on the power laces. Are they just wider thinner normal shoe laces, or are they still elastic? That might be something to talk to David about if he goes to the wrong option out of those two.

Any link ? I only find Jordans no Yeezy on the website I found :/
I get my replica Yeezys from perfectkicks.club and just a heads up, the posted a vid in January on their IG of Mags with power lace but haven't mentioned much of it since then except "soon." And they're a very trusted company if they finally make a pair I'm sure it will be very close to RD except actually have power laces.

Rebecca is telling me it's the best pair they have for size 7, the ones with the cup that is not glued properly? what should I do? x_x

Maybe ask them if they can fix it. Honestly though I would wait and see if they made any updates to the lights if they're giving you trouble for your first pair.

Are you able to take a picture with an extended shutter speed? It tends to look closer to what the eye sees.

Given they don't stretch, not elastic. They could be anything from ribbon (like a tight weave webbing) to just plastic. They need to be strong and flexible to wind onto the spool and why I think ribbon might be the answer.

cavx, since these are made to order I think it would be safe to assume that we might be able to request certain pieces not be attached. Will you be taking that opportunity to ask for the soles to not be for your clear soles projects? That would also give you the chance to paint the soles white like in the movie.

I did, they can't apparently.

I'd sat the buckle is just like a cover for the electronics and once glued down, can't be removed without the risk of damage to the wires.

In the end of the day, you 1, either take a pair with glue stains or 2, you taken this pair with a slightly off buckle and hope no one notices or 3, you hold off buying for a short time until they make new shoes and hope they don't repeat the same mistakes.

If it were me, I'd go with 2 if I wanted them now or 3 if I could wait a few weeks.

No. If I need to get the soles off, I bet they come off the same as the V2.

They might come off the same way, but you risk damaging the EL.

Rebecca said to me I can try to fix it and that it shouldn't damage the wires. I might try to use a hairdryer see if I could move the cup just slightly up... I hope it will be okay, should I go for these then :x I'm a bit annoyed they are not fixing it for me though -_-

When you do, just be sure to keep the hair dryer moving. I bet that fabric is even more heat sensitive than the V2 stuff which burns quite easily.
