Nike MAG replicas (V2 and V3 only)

@Jedifyfe, are you going to be doing custom paintjobs on your pairs?

I plan on doing the Jurassic Park customs

Lol I am not sure why...but I like that idea. What kind of paints will you use? Do painted shoes actually last..if you plan to wear them?

This will be collaboration with my friend who custom paints shoes. He uses a combination of dyes and paints.

TOMORROW IS A RED LETTER DATE IN HISTORY.

July 28th, 2016 at precisely 11;14am, I, Brad "jedifyfe" Fyfe will be selling his Authentic Nike Mags. I am selling them at a local high end shoe store for $1500 more than I paid. I will be using that extra $1500 to but two more pairs of these V3's. Though it is a sad day, I am also very happy to have owned these shoes. I hope they go to a new owner that enjoys and displays them. Until then, the future is what you make of it.....so make it a good one.

WOW. Well at least you will wear these V3s :)

Lore, yeah I'd be onto David about that. I don't care if it is made in China, that is not acceptable.

Does anyone have a high res picture of the label on the box? The sharpie written over label on the box is driving me crazy for some reason...way more then it should. I think I'll print my own on waterproof label paper. If someone has one print ready It will save me a bunch of time lol.

Photoshoping the numbers to your size should do the trick :)

Thanks but do you have a larger size image? I don't think that one will be big enough to print clearly.

I started working on making a large clean version...but I am having a hard time finding any clear photos of the signatures for me to make vector. If someone has a real box if you take a picture of the label I could use that to vectorize it, I'll gladly make a label for any size anyone wants in return lol

I agree - I'm sure they are making pretty good money selling them at 600 a pop.
Based on what these shoes would cost in materials, I am going to go out on a limb and say $500 is profit. Time does need to be taken into account as these things are not the easiest shoes to make. So even if we say $100 in labor, these are still making them a packet.

I can see V3s bringing the RD down in price. And when David does the power laces man game changer for sure.

I don't know if it will. Those that have listed their 2011 MAGs for $10K+ (I found one pair for $20K on eBay) won't just drop their prices because of fakes saturating the market. And price will always be the point of difference. Most people won't get that, but then again, if they don't know what to look for, they will just buy on the lowest price anyway and if they get ripped 2K on $600 shoes, then it serves them right for not doing their research.

I do hope David can make these PL.

Well, I wouldn't ever sell my RD's for less than I paid, and I'm sure everyone that owns a pair (in mint condition) feels the same. The demand for them may be different now, as there is a good, cheaper alternative. But the fact remains there are only 1500 (1510) official first release Nike mags, and that is all there will ever be (first official release anyway), and with the pairs I have seen destroyed, heavily worn and customised, there must be even fewer mint in the box examples left.

If only Nike had made them mass-produced back in 1990 (as I'm sure everyone else on here had probably wished) even without lights would have been fine....

I think had they done that, the lights would have just been coloured (or painted) plastic parts. I doubt they would have even had GITD back then apart from a very dull green.

The question I would like to ask is, if they did, would they have made them screen accurate with elastic or modified them to have "shoe laces"? They would have been a hit because at the time, most cool looking hi-tops were 'basket ball' and white. White shoes lost favor to black shoes over the following years because white shoes (though I used to clean mine regularly) were harder to keep clean. A grey shoe, now that gives the best of the both - coolness and not needing as much TLC.
