Nike MAG replicas (V2 and V3 only)

I really appreciate the help.. She answers all your question, and seems very honest. They should be here by Friday... I'll post it when they arrive, if it helps you!

think this was posted elsewhere on the forum, i saw it earlier today.... its fake unfortunately :( ..... you can see the cranes shadow in some shots and the harness's in tshirts in others.... plus the "head of technology" is an actor according to sources!...... if you check out the website they say is the company one... it talks about them being "due" december 2014....... maybe its a publicity stunt for a remastered release of the series?.... or maybe a BTTF 4?...... or.... ( what we all really want...) the power laces!!!

yeah.. she seems "legit".... and through Ali-express the money is at least safe... but thats not to say you wont have your time wasted when they cant actually supply products on stores on there in the time frames they originally quote! haha.... fingers crossed it is just down to the crap tracking service for EMS and Chinapost in general!...

you would have to be pretty dumb to even remotely believe that viral!

they cannot break the laws of physics!

it was a viral done by Funny or Die.

Hey guys, quick (maybe dumb) question. Which shipping method is more reliable; EMS or China Post Air Mail? Probably EMS, right? They would be sent from China to America, if that makes a difference.

Thanks!

Definitely EMS. China Post Air Mail takes a month if not longer usually, and it's overall just not as reliable. I used EMS and it took mine about a week to get to me!

So, I ordered a pair of the black and golds from a seller called Jerry and although there was an initial hiccup he came through. Basically there was some balls up at Chinese customs, he got them back and sent them off again and they came in 4 days. I live in the UK BTW and there was no customs payments to pay. To be super critical, very tiny glue splodges on both shoes, but nothing I can't deal with. One LED is ever so slightly dimmer than the rest and one of the MAG logos came without any gold paint. He asked me to send a photo of the paint problem and is going to refund a bit of money to cover me buying some paint to apply. Only other issue is the switch placement is a bit naff, if not placed correctly then it can turn the lights on and off when walking but I've found that some tape helps dampen the amount of pressure placed, making it very hard to turn off whilst walking. I'm actually astounded how robust the shoe feels though, the gluing in from upper to rubber is as good as NIKE themselves. I'm reluctant to tear these up really, I'd say they're worth the $219 I paid for them. Might buy another pair to mod and keep these as a near daily shoe.
I'll upload some photos of the problem areas later but for now here's the good views!

True, although I was wanting to do a full light mod and switch replacement

Yes but you should not have to cut up the shoe to do that. Well not like the more flat toe mod anyway. I am going to tackle a light replacement on my display pair soon, but thinking about going in from the line on the base of the sole so I can push that out to for the outrigger as well.

I dunno about that, what about the LED's in the heel? Wouldv'e thought you'd need to at least rip apart the insides to get to it all. Also thinking of a strip of aluminium to go inside the collar to make it a bit stiffer and possibly a 3d printed lug to put in the holes if I can source a decent printing service.

Just out of interest do you know what capacity the battery is, how long does it last after a charge and how long does it take to fully charge?

No. From the look of the images posted in the tutorials, they access those LEDs by peeling the heel cup away from the shoe. It alarms me in some of those images just how easy it looks to have come away.

Lammy - I sewed a thin strip of plastic in the collar, going from next to the finger pull hole down to the heel, it seemed to add a little stiffness without making the shoe uncomfortable to wear. It was only 1 or 2mm thick though. You could get more stiffness by going a thicker plastic, which I haven't tried yet. As for charging, use the wall charger as going through computer USB takes for ever to charge them. Haven't done that for a few weeks but if they're turned off, they hold their charge for ages. I just turned mine on, and they light up fine after being off for.... maybe a month? Must've got good batteries.

Care to show cavx?
@DragonGalvy do you mean a vertical strip? Yeah I didn't use the socket adaptor as it was the wrong one, plugged the cable into my phone adaptor and it works fine. Still haven't worked out a full charge time, shame there's no indication on the shoe. They seem to last alright, did a test yesterday and one shoe started dying before the other, but lasted a couple of hours. Have a slightly loose connection on the left shoe on the red LED strip, after a few steps it'll flicker between on and off. If I stamp down then it'll stay on for a while but eventually will loosen up again

I have not done this part of the mod yet, but I am sure the images can be found in the shopping list thread.

Any news on your order? She finally resent mine on Monday, and today the first order finally showed up... So it looks like I'll be getting four pairs for the price of 2! I told her that I would sell them to my friends and then pay her for them.. I am certain that Karin Chen is a great seller, it's just the crap ems shipping with the issues! Let me know when you get them?

you got them!!!,... well, nope i still dont have mine, which i ordered on the 26th of last month, and tracking hasnt updated even once ( other than the time it disappeared! haha,) when i query whats going on i just get told "dont worry friend, this means they are on the way",... im starting to try n forget about the order or it just annoys me!,... ive always had stuff from china turn up in around a week and EMS or chinapost has always had at least "some" tracking,.. im inclined to ask her to send again as it seems like they have got lost or stuck in the customs process!

you are a lucky git if you end up with 2 extra pairs!

i have all the EL gear sitting in my ebay basket ready to buy when the shoes get here,... just dont want to buy it before ive even got the shoes,..... maybe next week fingers crossed eh?
