Nike MAG replicas (V2 and V3 only)

I imagine that was when modded V2s were the closest option to RD Mags. With the new V3 blowing them out of the water & retailing at $600, I'd say $400-450 tops for the V2 unfortunately.

Well i guess it depends who does the mod. $250 for the shoes + $150 for parts. Becomes a labour of love I guess.

Klen : thank so much for the special dedicace on the black V2 :) They look great in whithe but It looks that the swoosh is bigger than the original ?
And I guess the paint was a flat black from Angelus (that is the most common one the sneakerhead are using for the soles)
Did you sand the soles before applying the paint ? Did you wear them a lot ? Cause they still look good, no cracks or anything noticable :)

I just seen your unboxing video of the black V2 before you've modified them and the soles pattern were really strange... as if someone did just drew random strokes on it without any splatter :/

About the lights, I didn't know about the differents modes, I'm going to check that...

Is anyone else experiencing a delay? I placed my order on the 11th and still have not received my QC pictures (size 9). Rebecca keeps telling me they will send pictures when they are ready. David appologized for The delay and said they would be ready "soon."

Here's what David had to say about the battery/electronics

Here are pics of the battery compartment:

He seemed to think it was not a matter of resistors limiting the EL panels' brightness, but rather the makeup of the battery itself.

The specs he quoted were "4.2V" and "2A". I'm not sure what the 2A pertains to and some online research revealed that that usually refers to a battery charger. But he insisted that was what the battery itself said.

4.2V at 2amp = 8.4W. A 9V battery is what is needed to make these shine. It has a lot to do with area of the EL and how much voltage/amperage it is getting.

Would a rechargeable 9V be practical to have the shoes last a long time?

Most Li-Po batteries are 3.7v so its unlikely they would source a 9v one.
My guess is the use whatevers the most common, and 3.7v is the most common.

It will be interesting to compare how bright the el panels are compared with a AA setup i have.

airair, is your set up running off 2 x AA? When I did a 2x AAA, the sole panels were bright. As soon as I added the strap panel to the set up, the whole thing crashed and was quite dim. I was never able to get the same brightness again until I changed out the battery to a 9V.

well a few were running on 2 x AAA batteries.

each batter was 1.5v or 1.2v rechargeable nimh.

I used a 3v inverter and everything powered fine.
The LEDs were in parallel and el panels lit up fine.

I think there was slight difference in brightness but not much between the 3v and 9v.
i have a pic somewhere of both types

Would a 7.4v LiPo be enough? I'm not finding anything higher than that and lower than 11.1v. NiMH is ubiquitous in 9.6v but I'm guessing the size and capacity constraints would eliminate NiMH.

The swoosh is bigger because i handmade the vectors to get them lasercut and i felt like it looked a bit better with a bigger swoosh.

The black paint on the sole is this one from angelus :

You will never see any crack with this paint because it is specially made to cover the soles.

I wore them for more than 50 complete days and the splatters and paint are still going on very well, i have washed them for more than 10 times.

There was written on the forum that 7 to 9 were not available at the moment and David should receive them soon, only 10 to 12 are available immediatly.

Has anyone successfully ordered with credit card on the site and received them?
I did.

I have the EL from my shoes sitting in a container. Might rig them up to power and take some measurements. I have a light meter.
