Night at the Museum props on display in LA

The Museum of Natural History at Exposition Park in Los Angeles has a small display of props from the film.

The bastards won't allow photography!!

But all the key props (at least some of the multiple copies) are there, including:
The instructions
The keys
The baby keys
The RC Hummer
The T-Rex bone
The Roosevelt statue
The Columbus statue
The enchanted table
A neandrathal statue
The Atilla the Hun statue
Ben Stiller's costume

Yeah I even snuck back in a second time with camera drawn from its "holster", the flash turned off, and the screen turned on, such that I might sneak a covert shot here or there. But before even entering the hall, I was "gently reminded" no photography...:angry

I would recommend a camera on your cell phone but the image might be so crappy as to not be worth it.

Maybe you can get a Sci-Fi or other magazine to accept a spec article from you on the props and get permission to shoot them?

Good idea... I did ask the museum docent if it were museum or studio policy, and they deferred to the studio. I asked if there was any address to write to for permission and was told no. Although beyond that, I didn't press the matter too hard.

I'm always amazed when someone won't allow photography of movie props- I mean, weren't these things already photographed in a MOVIE for all to see?

I agree... And at the same complex (but different museum) all the Star Wars stuff is on display in all its glory getting photographed like there is no tomorrow (well -- as of today, there IS no tomorrow for THAT display!)...

Great shots of the tablet! I didn't realize it before, but after looking at those pictures, it seems that all of the individual panels turn and not just the one in the middle.

Might be interesting to decypher the meanings of those panels, to figure out why they all turn.
