Newbie starting a Nightwing costume

Hi guys. I'm working on a Nightwing costume and I'm really trying to straddle the line between simplicity and not looking super cheap. Just wanted to know what you guys think, if you see any problems that may arise and such.
I have a friend who owns her own little cosplay venture that I'll be hiring to fill my skill gap in sewing.
I'll be doing a back design shortly.

hmm actualy ive been in your situation before when i first create my first nightwing suit..it takes me weeks before i build mine ..when i build my nightwing suit..i made it out of my oldgrandmas stretchy skinny pants and an old blue turtle neck that i found on a thrift store..i just add an armor inspired by the TDK armor and batman begin style armor..bwala a nightwing suit..is done
