Newbie after some help starting dye subbing

Hello Everyone!

So, I'm pretty new here on the boards (been reading and browsing for a long time) and I was looking at starting to design some dye sub patterns for suits. However, I cannot seem to find the blank pattern and muscle pattern that I stumbled across some time ago now. I was hoping some of you would be able to point me in the right direction of these files.
Also, after looking into this a bit more, I can only seem to get Photoshop on a month by month payment subscription... Is this the only way to get PS (legally) these days?

Any help on the matter would be great

Kenlandrum has a few free patterns. You could ask permission to use his muscle base and pattern as a template.

As for editing, some users have used Gimp with good results.
