New Zvezda Star Destroyer Model kit

Hello, I'm new one here. I'm a big star wars fan and last 3 years I collect only original trilogy starships models.

On pictures I show Zvezda's kit with my resin kits: RC, Anigrand, Zvezda, JPG Victory-class.

What can I say... my choice is Anigrand. Its much more expensive but I like it shapes. Zvezda's kit is too thin. The sidewalls are two time lower than they should be. Zvezda has sharper casting, but Anigrand's details are better couse there are more of them and it make the sense of bigger size.

Going to make a convertion kit to fix sidewalls.

I live in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, and have an ability to buy this kits wholesale directly from Zvezda. the biggest problem is shipping price, but if ship many of them, its cheaper. You could make a group order and then reship them in USA to save money. Olso I could recast small Tantive-4 in same scale from Armata shop.
If you interested feel free to contact me.

Welcome to the forum buddy. Nice first post. Great to see all the kits together to compare. Thanks for that. Your sidewalks look great too. :)

Ben

Yes, Russia has great sidewalks, usually covered in snow!!!!!

Sidewalls look good to, the new ones look like plastic as I see sprue nubs on the edges. Did you make those?

I am surprised at how close in size it is to the Ani. I may never finish my Ani now....

Edit-
Nikter, welcome aboard! Love the comparison shot. Could you do me a favor and post a picture of the Ani bridge and superstructure next to the Zvezda? They look almost identical in size to each other. Or, measure their size?

The bigger sidewalls in pics are from Zvezda's superstructure. I will copy them and make new panels.
yes, I could make more pictures, a little bit later.

Interesting - little hard to judge as the kit sidewalls pic is shot from slightly above, while the mock up you've done is more straight on, but...the sidewalls, taken together with the oversized bridge, and it's the same issue as with the Revell. But not, because the Revell sidewall issue is more extreme. Hmmm...same digital assets being given to licensees, but further tweaking by the manufacturer? But if Zvezda tweaked the assets a bit, why not go all the way? Ah well...it still looks terrific.

Their add doesn't make sense. It says it's $165. Below that it says free shipping to the US with a price of $150. So the kit is $150 and you have to pay $15 for the free shipping option.......sounds logical......

I could suggest better deals. In few days I'll ship kit to one guy from keeperoftheforce.com, check the post office prices and inform you.
got them one hour ago:

Be careful. Not sure if your English is correct, but recasting is not usually acceptable (or ever acceptable)--unless there's something I don't know about this Tantive-4. Doesn't seem to matter even if the original maker is out of business, out of the hobby, dead, and all of his/children are dead.

Fwiw, I was one of the first buyers on eBay of the one I posted, and just got a tracking number... :)

I'm really tempted to get this kit, but at the same time that oversized bridge structure really bothers me. If someone came out with a replacement bridge I'd get it. Or I can still hold out a small hope of Bandai releasing theirs.

I was thinking about that too but Last night I saw Rogue one for the second time and I'm wondering... Does the Bridge look bigger in Rogue One?
Not Giving away any spoilers: there's a Scene with 2 Star Destroyers in the 3rd act. I was looking at them closely and the proportions seem different than the Holy Trilogy versions to me.
It may be a screen accurate Rogue One version of the star destroyer.

Edit: ALSO the trenches seem to actually be narrower too.

The Star Destroyers in Rogue One have bridge structures that match the original 8ft ESB model.

I believe Revell and Zvezda received CG files from Force Awakens. That crashed Star Destroyer does have the larger width bridge.

Every time I look at this photo I just think that it's got to be coming eventually. Maybe now that Rogue One is out?

I don't know, having seen Rogue One, the bridges on the Star Destroyers do seem bigger proportionally than in previous SW films and the trenches look narrower...I'm thinking the Revell and Zvezda kits may be in line with what's in the film.
