New Zealand help

Merry Christmas everyone and happy new year. I was wondering if there are any kiwis on here that might be able to help me out. Recently moved into the country and looking to pick up my cosplay/modeling hobby again but finding it hard/expensive so need some help.

I am looking for good sources and recommended brands for:
fibre glass resin and matting around the Christchurch/Canterbury area. Had a quick look in the sticky thread but apparently Christchurch/Canterbury hasn't been mentioned ever......

Auto body fillers

Casting - silicon etc but also gypsium type stuff for solid moulds

ummm think thats it... :)

Any other recommendations for stuff I might need also gratefully accepted.

I have had a quick look online but haven't found that much

cheers

Stuart

Hi Stuart,
Nice to see someone from NZ here, I'm in Tauranga.
I do Studio Scale models, 5 footer Falcon at the mo & am a 501st legion member as a ANH Hero stormtrooper.
I'm not too familiar with fibre glassing products sorry, but anything else you may need for supplies, like plastic suppliers/supplies I can help with just ask away.
Oh & my name is also...Stuart...go figure haha.

Bunnings has some good fibreglass products and kits and also builders bog which is the same as autobody filler.

Cheers guys, nice to hear its not just Bunnings and there are other options. I will investigate after the christmas and new year festivities have finished.

Hi

I'm fairly new to this myself, but I've been buying some Smooth-On stuff recently from www.fibreglassshop.co.nz. They're not local to you (they're Tauranga) but the shipping price looks reasonable, they ship quickly and shipping is free if you spend over $100. Plenty of fibreglass stuff there as well as Smooth-On.

Cheers guys once the bank balance looks healthier it will be shopping time!

Cheers Stuart a list would be great, just spent the afternoon frankensteining a vacuum former to test some ideas. Think it will just be a kitchen and stove setup till I figure out a better system that would trip garage power. Never done it before so any advice much appreciated.
