hey all,

Have been attending since the first NYCC when it was blissfully empty. These last two years I've been coming back to it now that it is a mad house.

Some points of interest -
I had a C3P0 mask that will soon be a movie accurate, wearable costume. He was so enamored with it, he tried it on ;o). I think it almost fit, considering I didn't chip it all away yet ;o). PLEASE invite him back next year NYCC peeps when it's done ;o).

- Had ernie hudson autograph my ghost trap.
- Another year I missed a photo op with stan lee.
- Missed Hulk Hogan
- Missed Sigourney Weaver Due to price
- Missed Shatners panel.

Costumes spotted -
Orko. Some guy with a super tall white mowhawk. A Pretty cool BAD ROBOT logo costume. The Usual Bumblee guy. A whole shoot load of Ghostbusters (LIVE TRAP!)....Not to many good costumes that I actually recognized this year. Lots of people had cat ears for some reason. not sure what that was about. Some Doc Browns. Seemed like a light heavy costume year this time around.

- Panels attended
- turtles Panel
-Muppet Puppetry
- Adam Berry
- I Know That Voice
- Anthony Daniels (best panel ever)

AutoGraphs gotten
- Billy West, John Dimaggio.

Things of interested - I was showing Rob Paulsen my current project, the 3P0 mask..and for some weird reason (re:Really NOISY) he thought it was his to keep. So, he gave it to his son. I thought his son was just going to keep it off screen while Rob and I took a quick photo...but when he didn't come back with a $250 prop, I had to fill rob in that it wasn't his to keep ;o)..

All in all a light, fun year.. hope something interests me enough to want to go next year.

How were the crowds Friday and Saturday. We could only make it there on Sunday and you just couldn't move anywhere by noon.
Love the mandalorian costumes.

thanks . i went fri sat and sun . friday to me was the lightest of the days saturday was the most packed . sunday had a little less then saturday .

whoever that blonde jedi is dating isn't an unlucky guy ;o)

so many cute women walking around these things..it's a shame this isn't really a place for meet ups. I tend to avoid the ones in latex or with lots of cleevage showing anyway. But there where a few norms I would have loved to have chatted up..especially the cute taller lady by the ernie hudson photo op booth on sunday handing out photos ;o)..

I went Friday, Saturday and Sunday dressed in my Khan Noonien Singh costume and had a great time! As I mentioned in another thread, I won the Friday cosplay contest, but I had a ton of fun collecting screams of "Khaaaaaan!" from people all around the convention.

And of course, I loved meeting alternate universe, Rule 63 me!

I've been viewing the pix on Flickr and the show doesn't look that crowded, but that's impossible, right?

I'm glad someone else noticed this. Except for one time on Saturday, I didn't feel as 'cattle hearded' at this one as I did the last few years. Maybe they reduced ticket sales. Last year I was really afraid of getting trampled.

I didn't see many original costumes this year. Lots of Doc Brown, Batman, Joker, etc. Someone had an AWESOME Bad Robot walking around. that was really one of the few new ones I saw that I liked.

Glad the crowd was more manageable.

Saw on one of the TV reviews that Stallone charged $395 for an autograph and $450 for a pic and his line was sold out! Unbelievable.

Sold ***** out? Are you kidding me? I was hoping at that price and with his attitude that he wouldn't get a soul...
Any idea how Sigourney did? she was at least within the high end reach of reason.

I don't know about Sigourney. The show only mentioned Stallone. I couldn't believe it either. It's obscene that anyone would pay that, but it's their dough.

According to Publishers Weekly, attendance was 133,000 (ties with SDCC), so plenty crowded, although they also commented that it felt less so.

Wow.....

Supposedly the new badge system helped weed out so many people and counter fitters that it made the floor less crowded. I seriously doubt the Javitz is bigger than the place in LA, so the same amount of people seem less crowded at NY....

Yeah, the article mentioned the new system as well as fake badges in years past. Amazingly, several hundred people apparently got in last year without badges at all! Vendors it seems are the biggest offenders when it comes to recycling badges.
