New Toho Godzilla film

Uhhhh....Yeah. Really don't know about all that red. The poster, I thought, had a very classic 'Zilla vibe but everything from the neck down on the body looks very Attack on Titan-y to me, which I don't know is entirely a good thing.

That thing may be a frame and they CG over it,that said one thing I see that says "this ain't a guy in a suit" is those tiny arms, like a T-Rex that is.

We'll see,I'm not doing any hating until I see it.

I hadn't noticed that. If it's a suit, there appears to be enough room in the chest cavity to hide the arms, and control the arms by puppetry or something. I'm interested to see the new Godzilla in motion in a trailer to make a proper judgement.

Trying to reserve judgment on the new design, but, it's not looking good. Like others have said too much "Attack on Titan" style here. To me the design of the mouth and teeth just don't make sense, neither do the tiny arms and the big round bug eyed look of the eyes.

I agree. I like the direction they seem to be going in, with the charred flesh, radiation mutant, thing look but, the proportions are bizarre. It seems very modern anime and I haven't liked much modern anime.

Just too early to say, other than it looks old school inspired and seems to be in the horror direction.
Not the handsome feller like we are used to seeing that's for sure.
I suspect if this is a horror heavy take on G, that it will probably not produce a series and be more the one shot.

One of the things I'll be curious about is how they release it ?
I know THEY get it first, obviously, but do we get it in the US as
a DVD or what ?

I would expect, but Godzilla 2000 did actually get a US theatrical release so you never know.

I'd say since our Godzilla film did well there's a possibility Toho may try a US release sometimes this year, maybe at or very nearly the same time.

The CG looks a bit wonky, the tail is too long but they can do a lot with this and I suspect this is just something that's not finished yet.

I do like it and I'll be watching it as soon as we get it.

*ETA*

Some are hating on the small arms but honestly most upright lizards have scrawny little matchstick arms so this is a suggesting of reality on the design's part and not the usual guy-in-a-rubber-suit.

Aside from the tail being ridiculously long, and the arms being almost skeletal, it looks pretty cool. Still not sold though, honestly, I liked the Gareth Edwards Godzilla better, even if he was "fat"

G has had some pretty long tails before.

There was some buzz that there would be a few different transitional forms of him, I keep thinking this is some in between stage we
have seen so far. Anyone heard anything?

What's up with the tip of the tail? Looks like a mini Godzilla in skeletal form - note the skull/jaw and spine w/ ribs:

Weird!

I've said it before this Godzilla just looks out and out evil, even the one back in 2001 with the white eyes didn't look this bad but I do like it.

The overall glowing bits reminds me of the Destroya version from back in 1995,in fact this thing looks like it's not right health wise so I wonder if that's going to play into it? Oh and it has a definite "Evangelion" vibe going...I just hope the guy ain't going to take it too far :behave
